Adobe Marketo Engage General

Hey everyone,    I'm pretty new in email automation and would really need some help in regards to AB testing whole emails.   I'm working on an abandoned cart campaign where I'm AB testing 2 same mails with different sales (10% off and 15% off). I set it up in half (50% champion /50% challenger) and set up my reports to be sent every 3 weeks as to check progression.    Since the start of the campaign (December 2022), I've received no reports in regards to email performances (realized it a bit late I know) and I've been trying to get them straight from Marketo but I actually have no idea where.    Any help would be much appreciated!  Thank you!

Note from Community Moderator added 2021-03-08: the webhook payload described here will break when any of several common characters appear in Lead/Person/Company fields. For updated guidance on creating properly escaped JSON payloads, see an upcoming post on the Products Blog.   In March 2019, I got a chance to go to Adobe Sumit in Las Vegas. This was my first time attending the Summit. It’s fascinating to meet several experienced Marketo folks and learn from them One of the Marketo Champions introduced me to Webhooks. So I thought, why not learn webhooks by integrating Marketo and Slack. Go easy on me; I consider this my first real article.   Integrating Marketo and Slack Marketo webhooks are great way to send/receive data with the third-party service. It is done using GET or POST HTTP method (learn more about HTTP methods). In this article, we will show how to send the data from Marketo to Slack using webhooks. For example, when someone fills a particular form (eg. co

We consistently send around 5-6 million emails per month, and have done so for years. However we only have 8 unsubscribed customers where the unsubscribe reason contains "Customer Complaint Received from ISP" (or even just the word "complaint") per the knowledgebase article below:   https://nation.marketo.com/t5/knowledgebase/feedback-loops-fbl/ta-p/248685   While I'm confident in our general content, segmentation and list hygiene practices, this still seems highly unlikely. Are any of you seeing unsubscribe activity with this unsubscribe reason or similar right now?   Thanks, Barry

Hi Everyone, I'm am experienced email marketer, but new to the Marketo platform. Wondering if you have any suggestions on using/placing emojis into the email subject line? Look forward to hearing what your preferences and best practices are.   Thanks, Hannah

Hello Community Friends,   I'm investigating 7 leads from the same organization that Marketo has identified as bots. Looking at each of them, I've noticed the following things:   They have been in our database for a while (1-2 years)  They have received regular emails but have only experienced this bot issue recently (from September 2022 onward) Several leads that received an email on December 7 showed the first click as normal (Bot Activity Pattern = N/A) but by the third click (all in the same minute), the lead shows Bot Activity = Match with IAB bots list Most don't have an "Open Email" activity but are registering click activity, except for one lead that has four email clicks and the open email activity 44 minutes later Questions: Is this a case of the bot/IAB list misidentifying those leads? We only use the IAB list option so would that impact the quality of the bot identifications? See screenshot below for our settings. Can email server scanners cause a lead to

Hello,    We have some members from our sales department that would like to use the source code from our Marketo Emails for their Salesloft emails. My immediate thought is this would be a bad idea. I know it is possible to plug the HTML code into other email providers, but are there any reasons why we would not want to use Marketo email code with other email providers?    My concern is how the custom Marketo email is coded and how it will render if the email is not sent through Marketo, especially since this is a custom-coded email and uses Marketo syntax.   Of course, we would strip the Marketo email of all tokens and URLs before pulling the HTML/CSS, but what else should I be considering?

Hello Everyone,    We want to send an email to our recent concluded event attendees (we have received an attendee list from our vendor) in that email we want to share a unique code with attendees so with that unique code they can avail their goodies/gifts. How can we send an email to all the attendees with an unique code. We want to allot an unique code to every attendee. How can we do it?

My company sends out nurture emails on a weekly basis and we see a fair amount of autoreplies that say an individual has retired or left the company. Is there a way to automate cleaning up these leads (ie mark as dead or delete)? Open to third-party solutions if nothing is native to Marketo to do this.

In outlook calendar can able to track in marketo that people who are booked for meeting?

Hello everyone,   we have strange behavior in a smart campaign. All contacts come via API calls. We have the following triggers and filters.     The strange thing is that only contacts that already exist in Marketo runs through the campaign. New contacts that aren't already in Marketo won't make it through the campaign, even though all the prerequisites are met. We have already tested some changes to the triggers and filters, but so far without success. We have absolutely no idea what it could be. Any help or hint are welcome.   Many thanks in advance!   Best regards Mainata

Hi there,   I'm a product manager at an events company, and we are building an integration with Marketo. One of the use cases that we are solving for, is that once a Marketo Program is connected with out Event/Webinar, we automatically pull all the Program Member data to our database and register them in our systems.    I wanted to understand if there's a use case for deleting Program Members in Marketo and what are the scenarios where a marketer would do that.   If there are valid cases, then we will proceed to build the integration in such a way that if a Program member is deleted in Marketo, then they get automatically deleted in our events platform as well. Any help is much appreciated.    Thanks!

Anyone else experiencing slow program performance this morning?

Hi Community,My company is launching a Google Analytics Integration with our Marketo instance. We are following the guide posted to the Marketo Community found here on Page 5: Seamless Marketo - Google Analytics Integration The one snag we've hit is that the new web hook refuses to publish. I receive nothing but the dreaded error message, "url must not contain invalid chars or json". All of the fields are entered correctly, but there appears to be an issue with the "Lead.Marketo Unique Code" field (Token: {{Lead.Marketo Unique Code}} ). I've learned that this is a native field in Marketo, which was originally hidden. I've tried creating the webhook with the field both as hidden as well as unhidden. When I search for the token using the "URL Insert Token" function during creating the webhook, the field can't be found there. Strange enough as it is found when I search for the field within Field Management. Screenshot attached. It appears that both authors of the file have deactivated acco

Hi,My company just started with Marketo and have yet to sync Salesforce with Marketo. I could use some recommendations on the best way to dedicate a Salesforce license to Marketo. Here are the various scenarios I am thinking about. I don't think scenario 1 is a fit for us.Out of scenario 2 or 3, do you think one would work better for us in the long run? If you could explain some of the impact that would be great. Scenario 1·         Marketo SF account·         Alyssa SF account·         Marketing employee2  SF account   (rest of marketing team share as needed to view SF records)Scenario 2·         Marketo SF account·         Marketing Team SF account (all of us share) Scenario 3·         Alyssa SF account (base the Marketo integration of this account)·         Marketing employee 2 SF account (rest of marketing team share as needed to view SF records)Thank you,Alyssa

Hi Marketo Community!   I am trying to instal the Bizible managed package in salesforce. Upon installing it and opening the tab there is a text displaying "We Moved" with a hyperlink which leads me to a "Server Error! There seems to be an error with the server.".   Has anyone experienced this?    Thanks in advance!

For various reasons, sometimes fields need to be cleaned up/hidden within Marketo. This requires removing field references first, which ensures the field is not in use prior to hiding from the Maketo UI.   However, when a field is in use in the Smart List of an Email program AND that Email program has been sent, there appears to be no way to remove the field from the Smart List.  Of course, one can obviously delete the email program altogether, but this results in loss of any metrics, the email asset itself, etc.   I have engaged with Support, but meanwhile, I'm curious if anyone else ever dealt with this before.

I am doing some test.  Send Email was triggered. Will Demo Email really be sent to receiver?

Hi all, We currently have the custom sync filter setup for Marketo --> Dynamics integration (as documented  here https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/marketo/using/product-docs/crm-sync/microsoft-dynamics/custom-dynmaics-sync-filter-details/create-a-custom-dynamics-sync-filter.html?lang=en )   This has been in effect for a number of years but we are now wanting to sync all records across to Marketo as new requirements have come in to play and the data is required.   I just want to know a few things first: What happens when we remove the custom sync rule and field? Will this remove any data from Marketo e.g. activity log Is there a best practice to follow? Thanks in advance

Hello Community! We're currently in the process of rebuilding our general email nurtures from scratch and are playing around with segment sizes and how broad or targeted we want to go with our audience. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there in terms of a general guideline on how much (what percentage) of your database should be nurtured. Curious to hear anyone's thoughts on nurture volume and any potential concerns (ie. deliverability/domain reputation) that might result from batching too many contacts into an engagement program at once. Thanks!

Hello there,   I am excited to share that we launched a fresh new look and feel for your Community profiles! The refreshed layout provides a more streamlined view of your Community contributions and gives you quick access to new content filters, your saved drafts, badge achievements, and more.          Here's a detailed breakdown of the changes.    First and foremost, we've redesigned how your user profile content is organized. Now, you can easily select content filters (Discussions, Ideas, Blogs) to quickly view all the contributions you've made in the selected content type. Like before, you can also filter by threads you've published or threads you've replied to by selecting the "Filter by your contributions" dropdown menu on the top right.   We've also added a nifty Drafts tab so you can easily access all the amazing content that's in the works but not yet ready for the public to see (please note that users can only access their personal

Hey,   Is is possible to add a custom activity, to the activity log, using a smart campaign? We have a need to add activities based on certain triggers, but as far as I can tell, the only way to add a custom activity to the log is via APIs. Is there another way to create activities, or is the POST /rest/v1/activities/external.json my only option?   example: a contact is added to a specific list for say an event ttendance, and we would like to see a custom activity showing them as 'attended event'   TIA Ste

Hello, Our analytics team is setting up a "Campaign Tracker" that takes activity output from the Marketo API and stores in in their system. We have some emails that use variable data based off a Lead's record (products, etc) basically if they have A show B and if they don't have A show A type of thing. The analytics team wants to be able to track who was shown what variable data with the email.-- Person A sees content block A-- Person B sees content block BSince we use Custom Object data, is there even a way to track what someone was received without making multiple variants of the email? Would it require almost a Custom Activity setup in order to push it to the activity tracking being pulled down?

Hi, I was trying this solution available in the community already to display an error message and hide the form on my Landing Page once the event is over: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <style> .formHolder{ display: block; } </style> </head> <script language="JavaScript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script> MktoForms2.whenReady(function(form) { var today = new Date(); //set the current date var registrationClose = Date.parse("{{my.WBNExpirationDate}}"); //change to your desired date if (today > registrationClose) { $(".mktoForm").wrap( "<div class='formHolder'></div>" ); $(".mktoForm").hide(); $(".formHolder").append('<div><p>{{my.ErrorMessage}}</p></div>'); //change to your desired content here, set appropriate classes/IDs for styling }; }); </script> </html> However, my error message is displayed t
