Adobe Marketo Engage

Hello,    I am wondering if there is anyway to trigger a form fill even if a contact hasn't filled out a form. Is there anyway to mark a contact as having filled out a form without the contact actually doing it themselves. I ask because my company gets tradeshow leads on a regular basis that have to be manually uploaded to our CRM, and the prerequisite for a contact to be pushed from Marketo to CRM is for them to have filled out a form. I would like to use Marketo to automate the process of uploading these contacts directly to CRM and instead upload the customers contact info and other information to a list in a marketo program. Then use that Marketo program to say they filled out a form and push them through to CRM. Let me know if this makes any sense or if this is possible at all.

Hi all, Recently, we have been working on cleaning up our Design Studio. We previously worked as if everything was custom and a one-off versus templatizing and reusing imagery when possible. There are a lot of old LP templates that we archived as we move to a single master template approach and lots of old images that we no longer use.    However, when I archived these old LP templates and images, they still appear when we search or from the dropdown LP template selector. Is there a way to make these disappear from the active state? Or does the archive not work the way I think?   Morgan Heller

Hi! It looks like some contacts got involuntarily unsubscribed when they were added to a list. I'm having an issue trying to locate the Smart Campaign that is doing the unsubscribing. All I have is the campaign ID. How do I find the campaign that is doing this with only the Campaign ID from the person's activity record?

I have a few things I am trying to understand regarding Engagement Streams - the People Stream reporting and adding new content.   1) How do I interpret the numbers of People in Stream versus Exhausted? It looks like a lot more people have been included in the casts than people that have exhausted content. Are there supposed to be people exhausted after each stream or just at the end of the final stream?   2) If we add new content to a stream after the program has been running, who will receive that content? Would the people who are exhausted receive the new content? Is there a time limit for exhausted people to receive new content?   Thanks.              

Hi, We are running into an issue of leads getting synced back from SFDC after being deleted from Marketo. We did make sure that leads were deleted from Marketo only and also made checks to make sure they don't sync back to Marketo from SFDC. However, I can see no major changes happening on SFDC end but we still see leads getting synced back to Marketo in batches, Can somebody help with this issue or provide some suggestions? We're in the financial industry and need a copy of every email that goes out of Marketo. We have tried the BCC option to send an email to a Mailbox created in our Outlook Exchange server, but it chokes and due to limits Microsoft put in last year ('< than 3.5k emails per hour from one sender).  If we go with the Marketo option to throttle emails to this Mailbox that will slow down all of the testing that is needed (seed lists, test send to the same domain). How have others 'solutioned' for this? We could create another email server say in AWS and then throttle if needed the BCC there and archive from there... seems like there should be an easier option... Thanks for your comments.

In reference to this previous post: I was able to successfully use a CO trigger token in the flow step, when the trigger is "Added to [CO]." So far I have not been able to get it to work with "[CO] is Updated," but wanted to verify with others that it is not available for that trigger. I saw skepticism in the comments.  In my use case, I only need ONE Custom Object field value -- an email, in order to populate a temporarily lead field, which can then populate the "To Other Emails" field for an Alert in the flow steps. I saw a Sandy workaround of a "two-phase commit, to CO and to lead field." Does that sound like a good way to solve my problem? Any other ideas for grabbing ONE CO field value in flow steps?  I am a newbie to this, and trying to decipher it all, so please do not hesitate to explain at a learner's level. 🙂 Thank you!

My team is looking to update some of the content in the emails that are a part of our nurture program.  If we update the content, will people who have exhausted the program receive the emails if they aren't technically "new" just the content has been changed?

Hello,   I'm working on building a SFDC Campaign Assignment program in Marketo based on form submissions. I have an idea and want to run it through the community here and see what I might be missing.   What we're trying to achieve is assign leads to the correct SFDC campaigns, based on the information coming through form submissions, more precisely, the UTMs or the lack of them. We have our forms setup with all necessary hidden UTM fields.The issue we're facing comes from the fact that Marketo is last-touch based and that it does not update fields to NULL value if a form submission comes through with an empty field, like a utm field, for example.   To elaborate, here's an example: Joan does not exist in our Marketo database. She clicks on a banner and comes to our website, carrying a utm_source=linkedin. She submits a form, Marketo looks at the submission and sees there's a utm_source=linkedin, so based on the program flows it puts the lead in the 2022-LinkedIn SFDC Cam

I have a client whose website platform will be migrating to SAP eCommerce Platform. I was asked to research whether there were any issues with embedding Marketo forms on a site built on the SAP eCommerce Platform or embedding munchkin code in it's pages. My instinctive reaction is that since Munchkin and Marketo Form Embed codes are JavaScript, there shouldn't be an issue. However, I have no expertise in website platforms in general and am unfamiliar with the SAP eCommerce Platform. It sounds like it's more than a tool for building websites based on the name. Can anyone help me out with this question?   Thank you!

Hi Marketo Community,Recently went through one of the new things and wanted to share with the community. Use Case- Want to Copy a value of Marketo Custom Object field while Trigger Campaign. Solution- This can be achieved by using a Change Data Value Flow Step and using Trigger tokens in the New Value area. Where the format of the token should be {{trigger.Custom Object Field Name}}. In the below example it is {{trigger.COField Name 1}} {{trigger.COField Name 2}} Please Note- This will only work with Trigger Campaigns and work with the Trigger Campaign having a Trigger for the same custom object for which you want the fields in the Flow Step. For example- Campaign Smart List- Added to ABC(custom object) Campaign flow should be: CDV Attribute: Your Field and New Value should be {{trigger.Name of field under ABC object}}   Hope this helps. Hello community, An internal request from our support department asked if the Marketo email alert's subject line  (they receive - triggered when someone requests support on our contact us form) can contain a unique identifier (of sorts) because the subject carries with the support ticket for the life of the ticket. Currently, I have the requester's full name token in the subject and tried using the comments token but it makes it ridiculously long. Marketo support verified there is not a way to limit the character amount returned in a token. Suggestions for what could take its place? Thanks, --Tracy

One of our teams will ALWAYS use a specific condition on all Marketo smart campaigns (the "member of program" condition). Is there a way to auto-populate or auto-include this condition in all new campaigns that are created?

Hi, I have separate Marketo activity extraction applications. One application extract activities using the batch API (rest/v1/activities.json) other one extract activities using bulk API (/bulk/v1/activities/export/{exportId}/file.json). However, when I compared the activities extracted from the two methods I found there is a discrepancy in activity count. Activities extracted using batch API were missing some activities which were available in the Bulk extract. I double-checked the sinceDatetime and tried a couple of times. Every time I end up with the same results. Is this is a known issue or way I'm using it not correct?  (If the sinceDatetime in Batch = 8/2/2022 12:00:00 AM I'm using the same DateTime to create the bulk export job. i.e. startAt = 8/2/2022 12:00:00 AM endAt = 8/2/2022 11:59:59 PM. I'm only checking activities  8/2/2022 ) Thanks in Advance.

QUESTION: what issues could we run into if... we build an email inside Marketo using one of our email templates, then download the HTML code and send it to one of our vendors/associations to send our email out of their system? Should we have any concerns in doing this?

Hi, I'm trying to extract Marketo activities using rest/v1/activities.json.  I want to run this extraction app multiple times a day to get all the activities but manageable chunks in each run (Without running once per day which will retrieve a large number of activities). The way I'm trying to implement this is, 1. First extract activities and store them in an Azure blob (CSV).  2. When running the next extraction, get the last activity date (MAX(activityDate)) and extract the activities since then. pagingToken = rest/v1/activities/pagingtoken.json&sinceDatetime= MAX(activityDate) Activities = rest/v1/activities.json&activityTypeIds=1&nextPageToken=pagingToken (from previous call)   At a glance this worked fine. But when I'm the extracted csvI notice the same Activities repeated in each extraction run. I believe this is because even if I asked for activities after a specific time, API still give all the activities on the same page regardless of the
