I had a customer recently who had to fully resynch their data from Salesforce because of an unfortunate unrecoverable data mishap, and I thought it might be helpful to explain the process and mention some "gotchas" when considering this.   Marketo maintains a data value change log in the activity history of every person, so if the problem is due to a list import, it might be possible to simply re-import a new list, re-overwriting that data and correct it.   Another more advanced remediation possibility would be to identify the people affected, and pull the data value changes activities from Marketo. Hi there,I have a lookup field in the SFDC Lead object that does a lookup on the Campaign object. When I select a campaign in the field in SFDC, the respective Campaign ID is syncing over to the corresponding Marketo field correctly. But if/when I change the campaign ID value in the Marketo field, it does not seem to sync to the SFDC field. Ideally when I change the campaign ID in the Marketo field, the lookup value (i.e. the name of the campaign) would update in the SFDC field. Is the sync on SFDC lookup fields not bi-directional?  Thx in advanceColin EDIT: Problem solved - there was a related flow in SFDC that was causing the Marketo > SFDC sync to fail in some circumstances..

Hi All,   While removing some outdated email programs, I encountered an unexpected problem. Although I managed to delete certain programs by removing their dependencies, I received a 'Background Delete Failed' message for several others. I've attached a screenshot for reference. Do you think this could be related to Marketo, or might there be something I've overlooked? Any insights?   TIA  

You don’t want it with Email Suspended. It doesn’t mess around: if a recipient’s mailserver gave a super harsh “We don’t like you” bounce message, Marketo will block all email to that lead for 24 hours.   What’s not formally documented is that Email Suspended, and the related Email Suspended At and Email Suspended Cause, are also set for all other leads that exist at the time of the bounce with the same Email Address.   This makes sense, of course. We’re trying to give a decidedly unmellow mailserver time to calm down and accept our email again. You may not have noticed this in your travels, but the _mktoReferrer hidden field is cached when forms2.min.js is loaded — before forms themselves are loaded — and all forms use that cached value.   The _mktoReferrer becomes the important Referrer constraint in Smart Lists. That’s how we know the page someone was on when they submitted an embedded form.   For a multi-page site — I’d guess 85%+ of corporate brochure sites are multi-page, not sure though! — caching is fine, because a new main document loads when you navigate. Thus forms2.min.js reloads and reads the new document.location.href.   But single-page applications (SPAs), by definition, change content and update the Location bar without loading a new document. In this case, forms2.min.js will not load again.   With an SPA, the displayed and business-logical URL can change from https://www.example.com/first-product to https://www.exam

Hi allDoes anyone use Twilio for sending SMS messages from Marketo? I have an issue that's stumping me.We want to send SMS messages that have emojis in them eg 🌼 https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+1F33CWe send these messages from Marketo -> Twilio via a webhook. In this webhook are Marketo tokens which is where we configure the content of the message.This webhook passes the payload to Twilio in plain text, which strips out the emojis. If I try to add them in unicode or HTML formats ( U+1F33C or 🌼), Twilio still treats them as plain text and fails to send them as emojis. So eg an SMS saying "Here is a flower 🌼" turns into "Here is a flower U+1F33C". I can't tell if this is an issue with how Marketo sends the information or how Twilio is receiving it. I've lodged tickets with both platforms but hoping someone has come across this before?

Since implementing Marketo Measure (Bizible), we noticed that there were a few opportunity related contacts missing an attribution touchpoint even though they should've had one.   For example, the opp closed won date for an opportunity is 5/17/23, and the lead associated with the opportunity filled out a demo request form on 11/16/22 (and the demo request was the reason this opp opened). We're not sure why a Bizible attribution touchpoint isn't pulling through for this opportunity (and none of the suppression rules applied).    Is it possible to manually force a Bizible attribution touchpoint? Or any way to recreate the Bizible attribution touchpoint?

Hi guys! I'm using the Email Performance report from the Analytics tab. So, in the Setup tab, I set the "Sent Date" to This Year, then I added the filter "Opened Email" while Email is any. Then I added the constraint "Is Mobile Device" as true and it showed me a total send of 556,993 and a 37% in the Open Rate. Then I wanted to know the number of non-mobile people who opened our emails, so I switched the true for a false in the "Is Mobile Device" constraint. Now with only changing that, it showed a total send of 5,147,980 and a 38,4% on the Open Rate.Why it is showing a different Total Send number?

Is there a way to extract the scheduled run date for a campaign via the official Python SDK for the Marketo Rest API? I see createdAt and updatedAt but those do not match the Scheduled Run Time on the UI screen.

Hello,I’d like to open a discussion regarding an issue we’ve encountered with the attribution of form submission pages. We utilize global forms for various campaigns, such as webinars and content downloads. To ensure proper attribution to the relevant program, we've implemented a referrer constraint based on the URL.However, we’re seeing instances where a form is filled out, but the referring page doesn’t have an embedded form. Consequently, when the lead is passed to Marketo, it is not being attributed to any program. This seems to be a disconnect between the form submission action and the referrer page recognition.Has anyone experienced a similar issue or does anyone know how to resolve this kind of bug? Any insights or suggestions on how to ensure accurate form submission attribution would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,  I am trying to reference an CID value stored in Program Membership Data in velocity script, from another Program.   Essentially, we have a CID "controller" default program, we are setting the values in a Program Membership field. This will used to set the CID value globally. In email default programs, I want to populate content, based on the "controller"s Program Membership CID value.    I am struggling to understand if I can specify the program id, where the pmCampaignId is set.   ##Set field variables #set ( $recentcampaignid = $member.pmCampaignId )

Hello, Does anyone know if it's possible to integrate GA4 with Marketo via an API connection to pull in email reports? I understand we can use utm parameters in our email links, which we are doing, but we would like to directly connect our existing email performance, link performance, etc. reports to GA4 with the goal of building a repository of data year over year. As it stands in Marketo, email sent data is only saved for 90 days, after which time it's no longer available. We heavily depend upon our email reports to track year over year success of our campaigns for strategic planning, prioritizing and making improvements to our campaigns, and not having this data readily available is a huge hindrance for us.   Thank you, LK

Hello everyone,I have a fairly simple engagement program, but it still doesn't work as expected.There are three streams. An email is sent in the first stream. There are two topics with CTAs in the email. If you click the CTA for topic 1, you will be taken to stream 2 and should receive an email about topic one. If you click the CTA for topic two in the first email, you will be taken to stream three and should receive the email for topic two. If you click on both CTAs you should receive both emails on both topics. Apparently everything works except for one “small thing”. So the first email arrives and when I click on the CTAs, I am pushed accordingly to stream 2 or stream 3. The problem is that the emails are not being sent. As far as I know, if you are pushed in a stream, the email is sent automatically without having to define any extra triggers for it. I've tried various tests, but I can't find the cause. Am I missing something or is the whole thing not as simple as I imagi

Hello there,so my question is one of a series related to improving our program performances, based on the various program membership touchpoints. I know this topic has been already dealt with, but I like to see another perspective. Let's assume that we want to have a multi-touchpoint channel attribution, so based on any single program, instead of having just the single Person, MQL, SAL, etc. channel attribution. What I am doing right now, for every single program, is having a flow that evaluates and records (in several custom program member fields) UTMs of a submission/page view once these actions trigger the membership of a program.Then, I'm evaluating these UTM parameters for attributing the right channel to the member of the program.    Obviously, this way of flowing is not sustainable and manageable on a larger scale, because it means replicating every single step for each single program.
