Description - I LOVE (yes, that's uppercase!) the Web SDK "Data Variable" Data Element Type in conjunction with the "Update variable" action. Especially with the new UI, it looks almost exactly like AppMeasurement, even better. What I am missing is a way to initialize the DE in a similar way an "XDM object" can be defined directly in the Data Element section, to set an initial state, and which you can build upon in your rules to temporarily enhance it. After the rules have completed, the initial state is reset. In my current setup with the ACDL (Adobe Client Data Layer), I need a standalone rule that is listening to "all events" and runs before any other ACDL triggered rule that further updates the variable, just to achieve this functionality. Or am I missing a step / functionality? As a workaround, I could likely also create a "custom code" DE instead, that defines the core data structure as JS object, and can then be merged with the variable part and the result used i
Hi All,This is a follow up to my previous post . During the insert from query service, I realized there are some ill-formatted emails in my source data. This is causing a failure of the whole batch and nothing gets inserted. Using the source/direct file upload into a dataset, we can handle such scenario by enabling:a. Error diagnostic toggleb. Enable partial ingestion toggleHere is my error log (from query service):58000 Batch query execution gets : [failed reason ErrorCode: 58000 Batch query execution gets : [Errors(Some(INGEST-1211-400),Some(List()),Some(Parsing errors occurred when converting or validating the data. Hi, i'm facing this issue regarding the modification of attribute display name.I modified some display name (both of custom field and standard adobe fields) and then activated an ingestion on a dataset based on this schema. when data came in the profile store the column display name of the attributes wasn't reflecting the change. Any idea on why this happens? what should be done? additionally, in the audience section i see the right display names.

Description - Publishing Flow > [Development Environment] > Edit Library - Add a "Update all/selected to latest Revision" button. Why is this feature important to you - To more easily update everything in an existing build. How would you like the feature to work - Within Publish flow, a given Development Environment build, where I have Data Elements, Rules, Extensions I have added to the build, where I can edit/save/build environment (The "Edit Library" view). I would like a "Update all/selected to latest Revision" button, where I can select all/multiselect all Resources currently listed and press the button and it automatically selects the latest revision. In principle, this is similar to the "Add All Changed Resources" link at the bottom of the view, except only affect what is currently in the build or selected from checkboxes. Within Experience Cloud Data Collection (Launch), In the Publishing flow, I may have multiple Development Environment builds. I would like to have ability to either merge two existing builds to a single build. I imagine this to be on a Publishing flow level, with checkboxes on each build, and a "Merge" button at the top of the Development column. This would allow me to easily move everything from one or more builds into a single build. In addition, within a given build (where you can add/remove rules/DE's, Extensions, etc.) I would like to be able to select any/all existing items in the build and copy to another build. This would effectively me allow me to also do the first ask, but would still be nice to have both options. .josh
Hi Team,We are working on a particular usecase where a query using "WITH" clause need to be inserted into a dataset which will be used at a later point in time. I have run the "select" clause successfully, however, the "Insert" command is not working in the script. Has anyone tried any such usecase? Curious to know your take on this! Thank you!

Hello,I'm setting up an IO Event webhook in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) to trigger when two profiles, each with a unique GraphID attribute, are merged. After merging, the resulting profile (graph) will temporarily have two GraphID attributes. We need to notify our external systems and AEP itself about this merge so we can remove the extra GraphID attribute, ensuring each profile(graph in AEP) has only one unique identifier that points to the stitched unique profile in AEP.Any ideas, advice, tips, or documentation on setting this up would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!
Customer would like to use GTM to collect web data.How it would affect functionalities of AEP comparing to Adobe Tags?Customer would not be able to create Edge Audiences and data from GTM would need to be send to AEP in a streaming way?

Hi All,I'm trying to learn about AEP etc. What I'm confused about is when you create an XDM schema, you have to create a Data Set from it. What confuses me is, for example, if that data set has a count of # of times a widget was used, then will the data set automatically get updated when the widget is used again, or does it get updated when a data view is created using that data set? If not, when is that data updated and how? Thanks!

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your help!Right now I have one property with several rules (Page Load, Click Action, etc) and different websites are using the same property for tagging implementation. Since I'm Junior developer and pretty new to analytics world I was wondering which could be the best approach to keep rules consistent and also maintainable over time. I came up with two approaches but I'm not sure if it is the best way to achieve it: First Approach: Have one single rule that is going to be share with all the websites. For instance: Having only one page loaded event which will contain global variables and customized variables for each portal.Pros:There is going to be only one place in which I would have all the evars needed, in case of remove, update or add a new one there is going to be only one place to do itCons:It could be a mess in terms of having a lot of evars from many different portals because I will not be able to know which eVars are from one site an
Hello Experts, Lot of third party server side needs a field called Event ID. What value should be assigned to this field? Second question, Also mostly all third party tags ask for any of these 3 fields to be provided with Value, Email ID, IP or Mobile Advertising ID. Is there any way we could avoid that? ThanksNitin
Hi,Could someone help me on understanding the below:I have a usecase where a person is opening a website through his laptop but doesn't log in to the website but gives his details(firstname,lastname,phone no.) and an ECID is generated for him on that website.Now the same user logs in to the website using his email id on his mobile.So the question is, will two profiles be generated for the same person ?Also as I know two ECIDs will be generated for the same person, in the first scenario he didn't login(using his laptop) making him a prospect and in the second scenario he would become an authenticated user(using his mobile) and that would make another profile.Please let me know if I'm correct with my understanding or otherwise.Thanks in advance.
Hi all, i have seen that such a issue has been reported in jauary (https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-experience-platform/issues-in-implementing-date-function/m-p/645240#M3738). I'm now experiencing the same. we need to use this function in order to get only date and not time from this format 2022-04-13T22:00:29Zin the preview it seems working fine but when ingestion happens in the datatset the field is white. is there a workaraound to manage this issue? thanks
Currently, when you upgrade an extension, you get this notice:This has scared quite a few clients off of upgrading, because there really is NO going back. Especially for Adobe extensions, there is a strong need to be able to revert in case of issues (not to be snarky, but appMeasurement/VisitorID code updates have a history of finding major problems in the first month after release). Issues like Re: What are possible reasons why ClearVariable fails? make it clear why someone may want to move back. If you upgrade and you do see something break in staging during testing, you'd have no way to go back/compare/undo.

The new Update Variable action in the AEP Web SDK extension would be a lot more helpful if you could start with an existing XDM data element and update that, rather than having to start with an empty XDM object every time.In the scenario where you’ve got a lot of fields that you want to set on every event (e.g. domain, customer id, whatever), I’d want to start with an XDM object that’s already got all those fields populated, and then update that. Likewise, if I've got a lot of ecommerce events, I would want to start with an XDM object where the basic productListItems array is already defined, and then just update that with the relevant additional fields for the particular event (product view, basket add, etc)Currently, you have to start with an empty object in every rule, so you end up repeating a lot of work if you have rules that share a lot of fields.Another, perhaps better, option would be if you could just do the equivalent of the Merge Objects data element in rules.
