Adobe Experience Manager Assets

I need to be able to deny metadata edit permissions for 2 groups on the 2 metadata fields that control publication of assets to Content Hub. The metadata fields in question are: Metadata Type -> Field Label -> Map to Property -> Choicesdropdown -> Content Hub Status -> ./jcr:content/metadata/dam:status -> approved, rejected, changesRequesteddropdown -> Approval Target -> ./jcr:content/metadata/dam:activationTarget -> contenthub, deliveryI need to configure permissions such that only users in these 2 groups can edit these 2 fields while ensuring that all other metadata fields can be edited by all "contributors" of the Author Instance:WKND AEM AdminsWKND AEM LibrariansBy restricting edit access to these 2 metadata fields we ensure that only the limited number of users in the librarian and admin groups are able to publish assets to Content Hub.What is the best way to implement this type of restriction using out of the box capabilities?

Trying to find out the limitations of Assets as a Cloud service (specific to cloud service and not 6.5 on premises or AMS environments) that we should abide by?1) Limitation on the Storage of native files within AEM Assets?2) Limitation on the size of files stored in AEM Assets under a folder?3) Limitation around the number of file/folders under a hierarchy?4) Any general limitation that we should abide by when dealing with DAM? If there is a benchmarking done by Adobe, it would be great to get a handle to that link?

I've not found a clear way to export the Dynamic URLs outside of the UI. Is this a custom setup? What parameter do I use in custom report field? This seems like a feature that would be a crucial function. What am I missing? I've seen it in other setups but not in ours. 

As per Assets documentation in AEM as a cloud service, assets are stored in binary storage . As attached screentshot  I can see binary is stored in CRX . Is that should be a reference to binary storage rather than binary itself ?

Is there a way to have the Append mode option selected by default for metadata changes?

Hi All,I am trying to give access to Assets under tools for business(Tools -> Assets). But I could not give the access without admin rights. Is there any way to give access to Assets without Admin rights?Thanks in Advance.

Only on Prod Instance, seeing below error while uploading the file. Are there any file name character limit in AEM6.5? Tried with too long name in local and don't see the issue though. Is anyone seeing similar issue? Please help.   

HI, We've got 5 static image renditions created on upload to provide thumbnails for Assets to use when displaying the image in card or list view etc. I beliege these are mandatory. See attachment. That's fine - but these are no use for real users of Assets and I'd therefore like to hide them from the 'renditions' panel and as options on download. Has anyone got ideas if that's possible ... and if so how ? Thanks  

/granite/ui/components/coral/foundation/components/clientlibs/components.js is OOTB js which is throwing an exception. This issue is happening if there is more content to be loaded in the content tree. The current OOTB JS does not seem to have the code to load more content and subsequently throws the above exception.  The below code seems to be missing in on Prem, due to which load more is not working     

I've been told that I can only apply permissions to folders in AEM Assets. Is that truly the case? For our workflows here it would be optimal to point all users to the same images folder but apply permissions to fields in the asset to curate the images. For example, people from certain regions of departments would only see images in that are tagged with their region or department. AEM is the first DAM I've worked with that did not allow for this type of permissioning so its a bit puzzling to me that I'm told this functionality doesn't exist.

I am trying to add pagination to Scene7 /searchAssets SOAP API call. As mentioned in the documentation of searchAssets, we have "recordsPerPage" and "resultsPage" as Input parameters for the API call. There is no example mentioned on how to use these. I am quite new to the implementation of SOAP calls and have implemented as shown in the screenshot. This doesn't seem to be working for me. Is there something wrong with this format?

Hi everyone! I am wondering if there is a way to change the name of multiple assets simultaneously. Right now, I am selecting each individual asset and moving it to it's current location in order to change the names one at a time. Is there a more efficient way to go about this? Hi, I am trying to start a workflow on the basis of asset creation event in dam. It is working perfectly fine in AEM cloud local server but post deployment it is not working , though when i am starting the workfloww from workflow model , workflow is working fine . i am attching the code here, what can be the issue. I'm trying to understand where I can access the static URL's of renditions in AEM. I've read its an "additional details" button, but I don't see this option. The assets are published. Shouldn't every rendition have its own URL on the media server?

What are the limitations or restrictions on AEM Assets functionality in this scenario?2. Will the client be able to use all AEM Assets features, such as digital asset management, processing profile creation, integration with Adobe Creative Cloud, etc., or are there any restrictions due to only having access to AEM Sites?3. Is there any difference in the use of AEM Assets between a client who only has AEM Sites and one who has AEM Assets as a standalone service?I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide detailed information on this matter, as it is crucial for planning the implementation and use of AEM in this project.Looking forward to your response.

Before we were using Asset Java APIs to create assets in Java, but it looks like that is deprecated. I saw from another post that we'll need to use aem-upload: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-manager-cloud-service/content/assets/admin/developer-reference-material-apis#asset-upload I'm confused on how we're supposed to use aem-upload in Java, it doesn't seem to be a Java API. Is it even possible? Appreciate if anyone can include an example I can reference.   

Hi I am using AEM Cloud. I want to send email notification to owner and one team when an asset version is created. This email template should be from crx/de. How can i include email template in the workflow step and where can i create email template in crx/de? How to make some of the fields configurable in aem wf model ? one more question : Is implementing launcher or creating event is recommended to start the workflow on an event. @arunpatidar

Hi, I have an AEM workflow which creates lots of groups when run on a folder, but when i am assigning user to the created group i can just see an error page once i login. how can i give basic set of permission to a group so that  the assigned user can login and view /content/dam/assets page.(not the folders) because folders will be assigned on some condition.  I am planning to create on main group manually/programatically and assign all the workflow created groups to it, so all the basic permissions will be part of that main group.

Hello Community -- Is it possible to change the width of columns in Column View in Assets in AEMaaCS? We have lengthy folder/file names that become truncated by the default column width. We have user requests to be able to change the column width so that we can see the full folder/file names. I tried following the instructions in this post: https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-experience-manager/tree-view-hiding-page-names-asset-names/m-p/379796 but it didn't work, and I'm not sure if the solution was for AEMaaCS.  Any help is appreciated.

I have a TIFF file with a clipping path and a dynamic image preset to resize and produce a TIFF file. I have uploaded the TIFF file to AEM, But when I download the dynamic image preset of that file it no longer has the clipping path in the metadata. Does the dynamic media not preserve clipping path information? And is there any way to have it preserve the path when generated?

Hi All,Till AEM 6.5 if we need to update the confidence score for Smart tag we can update com.day.cq.dam.similaritysearch.internal.impl.SimilaritySearchServiceImpl OSGi Config. However this is no longer available in AEMasCloud.For updating confidence score of Video asset we can use com.adobe.cq.assetcompute.impl.senseisdk.SenseiSdkImpl.cfg.json with below value { "minVideoActionConfidenceScore":0.5, "minVideoObjectConfidenceScore":0.5, }Looking for similar OSGI config for Image Asset and its config values.  Thank you

Hello I encountered a problem in that the temporary folder tmp is filled with temporary files but is not cleared automatically. The folder size is 20 gigabytes and these files fill all the space, this prevents the publication of content on publish nodes. Files have names like this:/tmp/fleioutilscopy1750063702511928162.tmp What could be the reason? Thank you in advance.

Hi All, We have some PSD images managed in AEM DAM. These images have the clipping path added to them.It's observed that renditions generated for these images don't retain the clipping paths after they are processed by DAM Update asset workflow.Any suggests or idea how we can retain the clipping paths in imagerenditions?  Thanks,Sayabanna

Hi,  When I am trying to send the email notification template in a workflow, it always points towards  /libs/settings/workflow/notification/email/default/en.txt  template but it is not a good practice to make any changes in libs if I have to modify the template.  Could anyone help me know is there any other way that how to customize the new email template and redirect workflow towards it ?
