Adobe Experience Manager Assets

My organization is currently cleaning up our site. We have several sub entities each with probably hundreds of PDF files that exist in CQ5 that need to be tagged. I'm part of one of those sub entities. We are doing this one file at a time. Are there any more efficient ways that this can be done? I was hoping that they could just send me a spreadsheet with my files and I could just update that to add names, entity, descriptions, and tags for the files that could be used to update the database, but I'm not in IT so maybe that's not possible?

Hello Community,I am using AEM 6.2 (no service packs). Components and the interface used are all Touch-UI.I have a use case wherein I have an image component (based on adaptiveimage) and i drag and drop and image onto it. Hello, I was wondering if there was any way to get the absolute link for a pdf file when hosting an asset in AEM. I want to be able to link the file in html or send the file to a colleague who does not have AEM access so they can download and review.Thanks in advanced.

I know this obvious, but I have not found an official statement/document on these folder settings.  We struggle with the permission on a group vs. folder and often un-do the intention of the group.  

Hi Team, I am trying to integrate AEM assets insights with Analytics, I successfully established a connection between AEM Assets insight and Analytics but when I go to Assets view and look at insights I am getting Failed to load data in statistics.In Developer tool it shows this error - http://localhost:4502/content/dam/XXX/milford-sound.jpg.performanceData.json?metric=impressions&from-date=2017-04-20&to-date=2017-04-27&granularity=dayFailed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Server Error) can anyone help understanding why is this happening? Thanks in advance.

HI , We are planning to run the DAM server and AEM server separately as we huge assets and customization on assets.  To reduce the load on the Author and Publisher servers we want to keep  DAM server separately,My Question is there a way to establish the connection from AEM server to DAM server so that authors will have asset access in AEM server itself even though it hosted as different server. Thanks in advance. Regards,Kumar

We are trying to apply metadata (User defined Fields) to MP3 files but I cannot see the the User-defined fields section for the MP3 or Audio Files.All the other asset files (Images, Videos, PDF etc)  show this section when trying to edit the asset file.Can somebody let me know how I have the User Defined Fields show up for the MP3 or Audio Files ?Thanks,Neil

Hi, I am trying to find a definitive answer on maximum file size for asset in the DAM. Is there a limit on how large a file can be? We have a number of 360degree, 3D videos which are very large. Also wanted to know if there is a maximum limit for all assets overall, or is it infinite except for the fact that having a large repository will slow things down? Thanks!

I have a single cluster with n number of author nodes are there and I wanted to distribute the post processing operation ( uploading huge no of assets ) among the non leader nodes ( n-1) .I am using Mongo with shared File systems. Is it possible to achieve this ?Normally , we do job offloading within multiple Clusters ( as per documentation )

We are hoping to use AEM to link assets into InDesign files and share between our printer company and creative agency for POD projects.  Our connection to the Adobe cloud was not the greatest when we first started using AEM.   We were experiencing slow downloads and broken links when images were linked to InDesign files so we invested in a mirror server that was installed in-house to warm the cache files.  We did this at all three agencies that InDesign projects are shared between.  The connectivity to the cloud greatly improved but now we are still having issues with links breaking.  We have renamed our server path script to be consistent across all three companies so that our links wouldn't break when we save InDesign files from our server.   We mount the server location on our desktops, and try to open InDesign files after pulling them down from the AEM folder.  Wondering and hoping there is someone out there who has experience with this sort of work to discuss this situation in det

Hi, We have recently moved on from AEM 6.0 to AEM 6.2. We can see that in the DAM Asset Update workflow, a step has been added to the workflow to create the subassets of a particular DAM asset. For PDF and PPT, we can see that there are sub assets created for each page/slide of the asset with primary type as dam:Asset. It appears similar to http://help-forums.adobe.com/content/usergenerated/content/adobeforums/en/experience-manager-forum/adobe-experience-manager/_jcr_content/forum/5_ciot/tg7e-hello_all_ihave/1_tosp/1xlq-_smacdonald2008wro/attachments/pdf.png. I can see that the subassets creation was present in earlier CQ versions as well, but the definition of subasset has changedCQ 5.2+ - https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/kb/HowToRemoveSubAssetGenerationFromDAMWorkflow.html. This mentions that the workflow only creates renditions and metadata of the asset. Hi All,Am facing issue with renditions generated by out of the box workflow. I have uploading an images for example: xxxx.pngand below rendions are generatedcq5dam.thumbnail.140.100.pngcq5dam.thumbnail.90.90.pngcq5dam.thumbnail.48.48.pngcq5dam.thumbnail.277.236.pngBut when i check the dimesions for cq5dam.thumbnail.90.90.png, it is 90*44 instead of 90*90. For this reason editor has to manually crop.Can someone help on this.ThanksMadhu

Hi All,When we define the metadata property name for an asset, as per my knowledge it is unique. Only one property as "Name" with value is allowed for any metadata field in crxde. For example: define dc:title. Or it can also be done using metadata Schema Editor where we can define 'Map to property'.My question is:Is there any way to define 2 different property names for a given metadata field? I have a requirement to change the existing metadata property keyword from 'X' to 'Y'.However by doing this, asset metadata property in DAM will no longer display all the pre-populated values for existing metadata property 'X' in DAM.  How does AEM support this problem?I know in crxde, system will still store old metadata value with reference to the old property name 'X', its just that it will not be shown to the user in asset properties if I change it to 'Y' property name since mapping is changed.Do I need to write some custom workflow or any script which will copy the existing values to new one

I am looking to add user to user list in collection setting page, so that i can share asset to other user.but it only show Kelly Creative in the user list ,even if i  have provided the dam-users group read permissions at the path home/users.Please adviseThanks
