Smart Crop coordinates rely on the aspect ratio. This means that for the different smart crop configurations within an image profile, if the aspect ratio remains consistent for the additional dimensions in the image profile, the same aspect ratio will be transmitted to Dynamic Media.Consequently, the Smart Crop Editor will recommend the same cropping area. As content admin, you can always go in smart crop profile and update the rendition as per your business need if you are not happy with the auto cropping performed by Adobe Sensei. I have captured the steps below for reference.Step 1: Open the image by double clicking it.  Step 2: Click Smart Crop from action bar in the top. Step 3: Edit the smart crop rendition by adjusting the blue border. Step 4: Save once done with editing. Step 5: Publish the image.

When we upload a pdf to DAM, can we pull all metadata from pdf and update the DAM metadata programatically?

If I drag a new version into AEM and select to save it as a new version then go to the timeline an dlook at the versions the original is labeled and New version 1.1 and the new version is listed as current. An end user will look at that and think that New Version 1.1 is the one they just uploaded. Can the original asset be listed as the orginal and then every new version is called new version 1.1, 1.2, etc. Current could just be an a status icon to the right of the version to show which version is the current one. Am I the only one that thinks this or is this a common complaint?

I'm able to open up my extension in Adobe Experience Manage Assets, which is running on my local server. I can briefly make changes locally which are reflected in the extension, but after 20 seconds it times out with:Unhandled Rejection (Error): Timed out waiting for initial response from parent after 20000ms(anonymous function)node_modules/@adobe/uix-core/src/tunnel/tunnel.ts:268:When I open up my local application at https://localhost:9080,  I get "IFrame for integration with Host (AEM Assets View)...", then it times out again with the same error. I've tried creating the bootstrapped app multiple times using this guide: https://developer.adobe.com/uix/docs/services/aem-assets-view/extension-development/, but no luck. Hi all, My instance of AEM is having an issue with our Workfront connector. As of last week, users can't create linked project folders. We're also unable to access linked project folders that were previously uploaded, so users without a DAM license can't access the files they added to Workfront in the last 2 years. We met with a Workfront rep, but they believed it was an issue on the Workfront side. Still waiting to hear back from our AEM Assets reps. Anyone else having similar issues? Or any recommended approaches? Thanks,Morgan

Hi, I'm looking for a simple (preferably OOTB) way to prevent certain assets from being deleted in AEM. These assets all pdfs, they share a specific tag, and they each are a source to a live copy. The expiration date feature is not an option for this specific use case. Any recommendations on this? I'm guessing the answer is building a workflow, however I have very limited experiences with this AEM feature. Thank you,Morgan

Hi,We have a requirement where if a user clicks on an asset and then presses the browser back button, the scroll bar should not go to the top but should remain at the asset that was clicked earlier. This functionality is crucial for maintaining a seamless user experience, as it prevents users from losing their place on the page.Example:Step 1: Suppose a user clicks on the asset. Step 2: The asset is opened, and now if the browser's back button is clicked. Step 3: The scroll bar goes to the top.Step 4: However, we want the functionality where the scroll bar remains at the asset that was clicked earlier. We would appreciate your assistance in implementing this feature. Thanks & Regards,Vishal Jain

In an AEM Sites implementation with the integration of Adobe Commerce using the CIF add-on and components, we want to expose information through content fragments in a structured manner for a headless use case. In testing, we correctly obtain the internal values, such as the product ID and category ID.  However, I would like to be able to obtain, for example, product information such as the name, slug, etc., and the category name. Is this possible? I am sharing the query I am currently using and the data types I'm talking about.   Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi All,I am trying to give access to Assets under tools for business(Tools -> Assets). But I could not give the access without admin rights. Is there any way to give access to Assets without Admin rights? Thanks in Advance.

I've been told that I can only apply permissions to folders in AEM Assets. Is that truly the case? For our workflows here it would be optimal to point all users to the same images folder but apply permissions to fields in the asset to curate the images. For example, people from certain regions of departments would only see images in that are tagged with their region or department. AEM is the first DAM I've worked with that did not allow for this type of permissioning so its a bit puzzling to me that I'm told this functionality doesn't exist.

I am trying to add pagination to Scene7 /searchAssets SOAP API call. As mentioned in the documentation of searchAssets, we have "recordsPerPage" and "resultsPage" as Input parameters for the API call. There is no example mentioned on how to use these. I am quite new to the implementation of SOAP calls and have implemented as shown in the screenshot. This doesn't seem to be working for me. Is there something wrong with this format?

Hello I encountered a problem in that the temporary folder tmp is filled with temporary files but is not cleared automatically. The folder size is 20 gigabytes and these files fill all the space, this prevents the publication of content on publish nodes. Files have names like this:/tmp/fleioutilscopy1750063702511928162.tmp What could be the reason? Thank you in advance.

Hi,I would like to know if there is a way to get the list of references of an asset through APIs.Thank you.

I am facing an issue with Smart Crop in AEM 6.5. When I upload an image, the image remains in the "processing" state and does not complete. However, when I check the workflow status, it indicates that the workflow has finished successfully. Anyone faced this issue? I checked for permissions with admin and everything is fine there.

Hi All, We wanted to check if anybody has faced an issue with a decimal value search not working properly with Lucene in AEM. We observed that "." is taken up as "Space" by Lucene. Since it is not mentioned exclusively in the Apache Lucene documentation hence this behavior is odd when the search results are coming. Example:Searched Value -> "0.360"Results -> Document which doesn't have 0.360 but has (35.0) 360 Could any body provide any insights on this issue.

@heidi05 , couple of questions 1. Are you using Interactive image component from Dynamic Media? If yes it should work automatically by publishing the image with hotspot.  2. Are you showing pop up with product information , remember to publish product catalog items too.  Please check the below video it will be helpful https://s7d5.scene7.com/s7viewers/html5/VideoViewer.html?videoserverurl=https://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/&emailurl=https://s7d5.scene7.com/s7/emailFriend&serverUrl=https://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/&config=Scene7SharedAssets/Universal_HTML5_Video_social&contenturl=https://s7d5.scene7.com/skins/&asset=S7tutorials/InteractiveCarouselBanner

I have a QA environment where the Scene7 configuration is working normally. I cloned this configuration from QA(/conf/global/settings/cloudconfigs/dmscene7) to Stage for Scene7, but I encountered the following error.Please help advance about this approach: 03.12.2024 09:46:21.784 [cm-p73952-e729754-aem-author-5bbc9dcdf-smvnb] *INFO* [113.161.62.172 [1733219181771] POST /libs/settings/dam/scene7/endpoints/northamerica-enterprise/jcr:content.companies.json HTTP/1.1] com.day.cq.dam.scene7.impl.Scene7APIClientImpl getMarshaller: cache class com.scene7.ipsapi.AuthHeader 03.12.2024 09:46:21.784 [cm-p73952-e729754-aem-author-5bbc9dcdf-smvnb] *INFO* [113.161.62.172 [1733219181771] POST /libs/settings/dam/scene7/endpoints/northamerica-enterprise/jcr:content.companies.json HTTP/1.1] com.day.cq.dam.scene7.impl.Scene7APIClientImpl getMarshaller: cache class com.scene7.ipsapi.GetUserInfoParam 03.12.2024 09:46:22.002 [cm-p73952-e729754-aem-author-5bbc9dcdf-smvnb] *INFO* [113.161.62.172 [1733219

Hello Community, We are using Context Hub for personalization in our project, and we have all the necessary setup in place, including segments, audiences, activities, and configured page properties for Context Hub. Everything is working as expected when we load the page in edit mode and then move to preview mode. We are able to see the targeted content. However, when we load the page in edit mode and then move to targeting mode and go to preview, it does not work and always shows the default content. I have checked the variants information in the teaser, and it does not display the correct information (attached screenshots only show the default content). If I reload the page again, it starts working, and I can see the correct variants information loading. The issue seems to be related to navigating from edit mode to targeting mode and then to preview mode. I have even restarted the com.day.cq.personalization.impl.TargetedContentManagerImpl component. Has a

Hello All I have two different documents (one.txt and two.txt) in same folder with same text. For example, 'Technical details page'And Documents are re-indexed. Backend search query isfulltext = Technical details pagep.offset=0p.limit=-1type=dam:Asset when searched for results. I'm getting only one document. One.txt And when remove type=dam:Asset from above query. Many results are returned and has my two documents. First Query Search Results1. /content/dam/one.text Second Query Search Results1. /content/dam/one.txt2. /content/dam/one.txt/jcr:content/renditions/page/jcr:content/par/text/text-163. /content/dam/two.txt4. /content/dam/two.txt/jcr:content/renditions/page/jcr:content/par/text/text-10 The difference between first search results and second search (removed type=dam:Asset) results is that second query checked inside dam:Asset and returned my results. Questions is: How the first query is able to return one.txt ? why did it not give two

Hi All, We have around 1lakh assets for which we have to import the metadata properties of the assets, using out of the box metadata import we can import only 100 assets at a time, to overcome this we have access to data import tool under ACS AEM Commons on AEMaaCS.   Please let me know the sample .xlsx file to be uploaded and above options to be filled while updating asset metadata properties, let us know if there is any limitations for number of assets metadata properties to be updated at once in a single .xlsx file Thanks,Devi
