Adobe Analytics

Good afternoon, everyone, We are working with Adobe Analytics in our company and we would like to know how it would be possible, to hide an evar for the users. I mean, for example, if we would like to hide the "client id" evar, can you give us an idea to do that? We have seen the hidden option, but we are not sure how to use it. If anyone has had a similar experience, I would be very grateful to hear about it. Many Thanks!

Hi! We're seeing strange results as a major percentage of traffic from certain IP locations is actually associated to visits to another country's site. For example: almost 30% of traffic allegedly from London (looking at the "Cities" dimension i.e. IP based) is actually to the French version of the site.  This trend started towards the beginning of December 2021.  Moreover, all of the visits at issue are from iOS devices, which makes us wonder if this could be related to an update in the privacy policy of the operating system, but we're not sure.  Does anyone have any idea of what could be causing these results or have experienced anything similar? Thanks!

A common (and incredibly useful!) technique in Adobe Analytics is to concatenate multiple values into a variable and then use the classification rule builder to split these values back out in to separate classifications.   This is fantastic way to save on the number of variables being used as we all know we have a limited number of props and eVars available! What I hope to show you in this blog post is a method to make this process of concatenating and splitting out values more robust and faster to implement in a way that will mean you never have to spend time figuring out RegEx in the Classification Rule Builder ever again. Background The approach Adobe teaches is to: concatenate all your values into a variable with a delimiter (such as a “|”) between them use the classifications rule builder to split these values back out For example, the value in your variable may be… Email|JuneSale|20130601 Where the first value is the channel (e.g. email), the second value is campaign

Variables in Adobe Analytics are limited in length so losing data because we are exceeding these limits is something we all need to keep in mind.  This can happen when we combine several values into a variable for future classification and we don't realise that certain combinations create a very long string.  Fortunately, there is a simple method to proactively detect when this happens, allowing you to identify and deal with cases where values are being truncated. And the simple method is... ...adding a recognisable suffix to the end of the value you are setting.  This will give you an easy way to detect if the full length of the value has been captured (or not!) i.e. any instances where the variable is set but the suffix is not present are cases where truncation has occurred. Also, as long as you are classifying the values captured in the variable your end users will never see the suffix. For example: Imagine you were capturing campaign information into a variable e.g.

I am developing a new app in which we are using adobe and we see that passing the MID with Identity.appendTo -> URL for a webview does not work. The adobe_mc does carry the value of my native MID but then I see that the adobe analytics markup of the webview itself marks a totally different MID. I am using the SDKs with SPM. HiIs anyone else having issues with Report Builder today?  I'm trying to refresh a couple of reports with over 100 queries each, but if I try to do more than one or two at a time it crashes with a "A system level error has occurred" message. It's usually fine and I can run the whole thing in one go.I'm also getting "Your session has expired" about every fifteen minutes.This has made what should have been a 20 minute job take three hours so far (and I'm only about 3/4 done)

Hi, I have created a data flow visualisation made of 4 columns. If I download to CSV, data wrapped in one of the branches is not visible. I need to click on the branch to unwrap some of that to finally download. Is there a way to download all of the raw data to CSV including the ones that are hiding under the wrapped flow branches?

All  I am wondering and curious to know the impact on Google's announcement to stop the use of third-party cookies in Chrome by the end of 2023, this will shrink the lifespan of the first party cookie as well. Any thoughts on an alternate approach to address the same. Thanks

Hi 🙂 I did an export using data feeds of one specific report suite in Adobe Analytics, for argument sake, call that report suite "companyProduction". When I look at the exported hits, 99% have the aa_username field equal to "companyProduction", but 1% have that field blank. How is that possible? Shouldn't it be 100% "companyProduction" because of data feed settings and the definition of the username field?  Thanks! 

We are trying to pull the Natural search numbers. We tried using a segment ( referrer = Search engine & paid search = Natural ), then we used the Natural search engine report and then the marketing channels report. All the 3 gave different results, Can anyone help me with the best way to pull the numbers?

We have to add a new query string parameter setting for upcoming campaigns but need to keep the campaign classifications active.  I'm having a hard time figuring out what to put in the part where I'm overwriting the value of v101 with the query string parameter [what goes in here? the ?cid= or the regex that I made for the parameters when I set up the conversion classifications? ]. This is probably a simple question, but I haven't been able to find an answer.  When setting up an Analytics mobile app property in Data Collection, a value for tracking server is required, screenshot below.  The value expected is <company>.data.adobedc.net.  There is a third-party cookie implementation on the website. First question is, where do I get the value for company?  I assume this is the prefix automatically prepended to report suite names, but I don't see any Adobe documentation confirming this. Second question.  As noted, there's no first-party cookie setup, and the website server call goes to the 112.2o7.net domain.  Does this make a difference?  Is there additional setup we need to do to send data to <company>.data.adobedc.net? Thanks. 

Hello, I have a project that is sent on a monthly schedule. It includes the "page_URL (eVar9)" and "Visits". Upon receiving the CVS file in my inbox, all of the page URLs are converted into some form of the following: https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/**20characters**/domain=**my company's website**  This does not occur when I download the file direclty from the Adobe platform (i.e. I can see all of the URLs normally). I never had this issue until recently.. I am not sure if this issue is on the Adobe side or my company's. Thanks,

Hi all, Apologies if this has been asked before, had a look in the community but couldn't find anything. Some of the metrics on our Adobe Analytics instance have a little calculator icon next to them. I'm pretty sure this means they are Calculated Metrics. However, others have a little Adobe icon next to them. I'd assume this means they are Standard Metrics (as opposed to Custom). However, some pretty common metrics like Unique Visitors, Visits and Pageviews don't have the Adobe icon. What does this mean? Thanks,Santi  

Hi there,I want to set up an alert on a SKU level. My goal is to be noticed whenever if a SKU sales looks abnormal.Currently Adobe allows us to set up alert using filter. So I can set an alert using SKU=XXXX to get a specific SKU's notification.But  I have quite a lot of SKUs, it is not realistic to set up alerts one by one for all of them.Is there any other way to do so? Thanks!  

Is there a way to have more than one report suit linked to an app?We have multiple websites and each of them has its own report suit in the extension but also a universal one that is present in all of them so we can have a master report and know the user flow between all our products (shown below).However, I also need to see the flow including an app (the app has links leading to some of the websites). I thought about also adding the general report suit to the app one like we do with the web ones but there is no option for that in the mobile services and in launch it is not allowed as the general one is not an app RS.How can I track the users that are visiting our other websites from the app? Can I do like we have been doing in the desktop products or would the option be to use specific UTMs for the the app and track those on analytics?thank you in advance
