Issues in Typeahead fields

Hello - Is anyone aware of a work-around to pull Issues into a typeahead field on a custom form? Currently, you can't pull this object type in. I want a field where a requestor can reference a previous request they submitted. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Typeahead fields are only "halfway done". They do not link to anything like logic would suggest. A typeahead field is just a plain text field with the name of another object as the value, nothing more.

    It would be logical to link the field to the actual object it refers to so attributes from that object could be displayed. But alas, it is an "incomplete" feature.
