Hi Kundan, Parent tasks currently are excluded form Workload Balancer to avoid double counting of hours. Thanks, Vazgen Babayan Senior Product Manager

Thanks for info Vazgen. But may be some alternative or options can be added for the parent task that, if we connect Team with Parent task, then not allowed to connect any assignment with child tasks to avoid double booking. Just an idea. Because assigning parent task to a team can stop creating many hundreds of task in a project. This happens because of very long process flow for new product development, for example minimum, 150 tasks (manufacturing industries). We are facing this challenge a lot while using Workfront specially for this scenario. Have a nice weekend! With regards, Kundan. Kundan Kumar KGON - (Kverneland Group Operations Norway AS)

Hi Kundan - something that has worked for a few agencies is utilizing the Task Description as an almost check list. So for sections of a project where the same assignees are doing a bunch of tasks in a row, they would combine the tasks and use this approach. For example: Instead of having 4 separate tasks for a Site Launch, the project manager can have one task and then in the task description say: "In order to mark this task complete, you need to make sure you have... - Done this - Done this - Done this and tagged So-and-So in an update - Done this" This has helped reduce the tasks on a project and yet still clearly state what needs to be done in case the assignee is a newbie. :) Anthony Imgrund FCB

Hi Kundan, You could also do one task and then attach a task custom form with a checkbox of items that must be ticked off? Same as Anthony's idea, just with a custom form you could pull into a task report to check that all items have actually been checked off....just an idea.... Miranda Rais

Hi Kundan, I believe Anthony is referring to your project template and the tasks on there - is there a way to combine some of the tasks into one and add in the steps under Task Details so the person who is assigned the task knows what they have to complete before they can make the Task 100%. Miranda's suggestion is slightly different, create a Task type custom form with a check box field and list out the parts of the task which need to be completed before the Task can be made 100%. Either suggestion would reduce the 150 tasks but not need a parent task which cannot be used in Workload Manager. Vikki Gibbs WF System Admin Paragon Customer Communications

Here you go! One of the nice things about using Task Description instead of check boxes in a custom form is that the info displays in Home and on the mobile app as well. Anthony Imgrund FCB
