New Notification Rule: "Task I am assigned to becomes Ready to Start"

Need a new notification rule: "Task I am assigned to becomes Ready to Start".

It would be very helpful for my users to be notified when a task they are assigned to becomes "Ready to Start"; i.e. moves into the "Ready to Start" section in the "Work Requests" tab.

My users often don't know when they can start a task, and then the task sneaks up on them because it is hiding from them in the work requests section.

They've got one for when a predecessor on one of your tasks is completed as well as when *all* predecessors on one of your tasks is completed, but I think this would be a much simpler/easier to understand way of putting it. I'd also like to see the same alert for Teams.

As Anthony mentions, a notification is sent out, but because its subject line is "Task completed:" it is not immediately clear that it's telling you you have a task. We have some users who don't use the tool regularly but do occasionally get assigned tasks, and they miss them unless I notify them separately because the email notifications don't look like a notification of a task being ready for you. I'd like to change the language to something like "You have been assigned a task that is ready to start". Perhaps the best solution would be for the email notifications to be editable, or to have a choice among several different copy options?

Also, the notification that currently goes out only says the next task is ready to start by ROLE rather than by the actual human who has to do the task, which means everybody who gets that notification ignores it because 1) someone else finished something (who cares?) and 2) it doesn't have their name on it so it's unclear which task they have to start or that it has anything to do with them. Copywriter needs to do something? Must be a different copywriter, not me.

I think this is the most critical notification and it's not available.

I would like it if the notification was sent if the predecessor task was done by a different user and not by the same user. For instance, we have several predecessor tasks but they are all assigned to the same person. But we have one predecessor task assigned to someone else. So when that other user is done with their task, we'd like an email sent to the next task owner only if it is a different user. Otherwise the same person gets several notifications when that is entirely unnecessary.

I also suggest to include any predecessors in the task detail view (in Home screen). Currently the user cannot see whether a task has predecessors from the task view in Home screen.

Thank you for the submission! We think this is a good enhancement to the Workfront platform overall and this product area in particular!

Workfront currently prioritizes large-scale, foundational enhancements such as the new Reporting experience and changes to the core data model, so this item does not fit in our near-term roadmap. As such, I am marking this as Declined now, but we'll keep this in our backlog for the improvements for this area so that we can revisit the decision in the future.
