API Access into Reports

Allow the API to call up the results from reports built within WorkFront.

Currently, the reporting tools that are developed by end users within Workfront are inaccessible to developers and the software they create. I've had to recreate several reports from scratch for the API to get the same set of data.

What we need is a way for a simple API HTML request to run a report and print the results down into a REST result. This is currently unavailable.

Scott, in v9.0 you can run extremely limited types of reports. https://experience.workfront.com/s/article/API-Basics-638808549 Look at the section requesting a report. What I believe Andrew is asking for is the ability to run a report via the API that is created and saved via the UI. So for example, if I have a report that brings back Tasks that are marked as a specific Milestone, I can call that report via the API by its internal id. Currently, you cannot do that. You would have to recreate that report from scratch.

Yes, we also would like to have this feature and be able to retrieve report data by calling the report ID or some other mechanism. We are having to deliver reports to an email address, have attachments gathered by a process and dropped into a folder, to then be moved to a database, and API access to the report data would be a huge improvement.

We are evaluating options that will make direct access to the data delivered in a report available. However, this is not an immediate priority as we continue our investment on the Canvas Dashboards capabilities.
