4 ways you can plan smarter to execute quicker
Does your team spend hours searching for work-related information, blindly chasing down timelines or executing rework due to missed steps?
Are you concerned about the efficiency of your current processes and know that time is being spent on the right things, at the right time?
If you can relate, we’ve got you covered!

1) Speed up work delivery and consistently capture complete data with project templates.
Give project owners and resource managers hours back in their day by standardizing repeatable processes and creating projects in a few clicks. Project templates take away the guesswork for your team members—they provide clarity, so that people, processes, and data points are detailed every time and time spent on rework is eliminated. They also ensure that real-time project delivery and performance data is consistently complete to monitor progress, take speedy action when needed and to back-up strategic business decisions. Would you like some suggestions on where to begin? Explore and download sample project templates in Blueprints, a library of tried-and-true examples.
2) Make sure that deadlines and key calls to action are never missed with timely notifications.
Surface time-sensitive information to stakeholders by activating email notifications and automatic reminders on the global level. Learn how to give your team visibility into work being done and to collaborate more easily by completing the Email and In-App Notifications Learning Path and then review this this blog for a list of common missed and unwanted email notifications.
3) Enable data-driven process and resource improvements by tracking planned versus actual data.
Start by estimating planned hours, durations and costs with your project teams and stakeholders on project templates. Communicate the value of and enforce time tracking and timely task completions. Let users know that logging time spent on work is designed to prevent burnout, justify additional headcount, eliminate bottlenecks and celebrate their achievements. Compare the planned data with actual data in a custom report or view to help understand what really happened versus what you originally accounted for. Then, make data-informed decisions on how to best move forward with streamlining workflows, timelines and resource needs.
4) Level up.
Surface planned versus actual data to gain insight into process gaps, improvement opportunities and the cause of delays. An easy way of doing this is to create a custom report that looks at a specific time frame and includes columns for fields like template task planned hours, task planned hours and task actual hours to easily compare. Want to take it a step further? Review the Planned vs. Actual article to see how you can apply text mode filters and conditional formatting to bring attention to certain data points.
