Editing an image in AEM editor

Avatar

Level 1

I want to edit an image directly within the AEM editor by selecting a portion of the image and adding elements like borders and polygons. I prefer not to use a different application for these edits and would like to know how to apply them directly in AEM. And save once borders added. For example I want to put a border for the below image,

@ShivshankarKt Thanks for clarifying.

so my initial answer does not apply as your question is not related to AEM Guides but for AEM Assets.

This is AEM Guides section of Experience League communities - you need to post this question in AEM Assets community

@ShivshankarKt : editing or annotating an image/media asset is available only via Assets UI as it requires loading the media with all the required libraries (dependent on mime type) to support editing/annotating the asset.

Webeditor is designed to support editing non-media assets like markdown, xml(dita) etc.

Also to clarify - above answer is given with assumption that you are referring to web-editor withing AEM Guides only

Whenever an image is clicked and the edit option is selected, all the necessary libraries should be loaded to allow the user to make minor corrections to the image. If it’s not possible to provide full image editing capabilities, at least consider allowing users to add borders or polygons to images. Why isn’t this possible? Just think about how time-consuming it is to switch back and forth between an image editor like Snagit or GreenShot for editing an image, and then return to the AEM editor to edit non-media assets. Hopefully, Adobe will enhance AEM in this regard to improve production capabilities and speed up the workflow.

@ShivshankarKt : to address your concern - can you please confirm the editor you are working in? Is it AEM Guides webeditor or page editor or experience fragment editor or any other?

Probably a screenshot will help with more context.

Suppose I want to put a border around the image below and screen copied directly from the location:
