Issue about Hashtag “#” in the URL String

Hi All,

I have been having trouble tagging for URLs with Hashtag “#”. I am not sure if this is just me or not, has anyone else encountered similar problems? If so, would you mind sharing some solutions? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi George,

Sorry for the delay. It sounds like you're describing an ajax situation where only the hash / page content changes but no page refresh actually occurs, is this correct? I'd be happy to take a closer look at this for you if you can provide the DTM property name, an example rule name that's giving you problems, and a URL where I can test the indicated rule if possible? Feel free to send this to me in a private message if you would prefer.

Best,

Anna

George,

Can you please elaborate on what kind of problems you're having?  I'm not aware of any widespread problems with this, but I'd be happy to look into it more if you can provide some additional details.

Thanks!

Hi Shawn,

Sure! This is a scrolling website, the URL will probably change from www.mywebsite.com to www.mywebsite.com/#contact when scrolling down. I need to tag multiple button clicks, but I was told that many event based rules were not firing correctly when there is a hashtag in the URL. I am not sure if this is just us or not, but I am happy if there is not any widespread problems with this. Thank you so much for your help, Shawn!
