Updating Fixed Position Content in Adobe Target Without a Feed: How To?

In Adobe Target, I have a layout with three main areas for recommendations. I want the second area to stay fixed in its place but change its content over time. This content won't come from a regular feed. How can I make Adobe Target update this area with new content that's not from a feed?

Could you create an A/B or XT activity, using the "Replace Content > Recommendation" action, to handle feed 1 populating area 1 & 3; and then a separate activity where you could handle the content for area 2

Just to be sure I understand correctly, is your goal to control area 1&3 with feed 1 and area 2 with feed 2?

Yes, in my design, areas 1 and 3 will display content from feed 1 using a recommendation algorithm. However, for area 2, which serves as an ad space, the situation is different. When this space is sold, I need the flexibility to change its content without manually altering the design. The content for this area could come from a second feed or even from an external source if possible. It's crucial for me to have control over this space to set a fixed content when necessary, ensuring seamless content updates without manual design changes.
