New VEC UI is not working after last release

Hi Community,

 

anyone facing the same issue in the last week?

It's been a couple of days now the new VEC UI has been rolled out, but we're experiencing major issues is editing experiences.

 

Issues include

  • some of use are not able to load the page at all inside the VEC/EEC, even using Chrome with VEC Helper Extension activated; some other users can use it
  • being unable to save activities because UI alerts say "Invalid user input", without highlighting any error in any of three sections (experiences, targeting, goals & settings)
  • QA links work/not work on a random basis

Is there any possibility to rollback to old UI?

We're raising a ticket to Support, but wanted to know if someone already found a workaround on the same situation.

We've seen similar issues and have also raised tickets. Biggest issue is that selectors we set (e.g. #id_of_content_to_change) seem to be overridden with full CSS selector path. This breaks the ability to have an experience exist across multiple pages. 

How to select elements is a second big issue. We often use Target to swap out experience fragments. We can no longer see the name of the divs when hovering--you have to guess which div to select. And you know AEM loves to nest divs inside of divs so it really is hunting for a needle in a haystack.

Please roll back!

Getting to be able to modify the experience at all would be a great achievement for us already.

I can see we are not the only ones affected by the issue.

 

Adobe support please reach out with effective suggestions if you can!

As the Adobe Target UI going through bigger upgrades - Check below release notes where you can see all the information about their fixes in each releases and the issues you encountered. 

What Is Included in the Current Release? | Adobe Target 

What Features Are Included in Previous Releases? | Adobe Target  

 

If this is impacting badly for your organization, you can also request to Adobe to put your organization in the later wave to receive the new target UI so that it won't impact.  Please check this with your Adobe account manager meantime you raised the customer ticket with high priority so your query address immediately.

We've been put into the new UI, and there are three major issues:

1) lots of bugs, already some are listed above

2) Bad UX, I could provide a list if wanted.

3) absolutely no training available.  I've asked and no-one at Adobe has been able to point me to a tutorial.  The one page documentation doesn't address any of our needs.

As the new upgrades impacted badly then I would suggest to raise adobe support ticket with P1 priority and let them know so the team help out.

Hi @chamito,
 You can try enabling the Enhanced Experience Composer (EEC) or adding the Adobe Experience Cloud Visual Editing Helper extensions.

For enabling the Enhanced Experience Composer (EEC), please do the steps i.e.,
Click on Configure > Select the Page Delivery Option > Toggle the Enhanced Experience Composer (EEC) option.


For adding the Adobe Experience Cloud Visual Editing Helper extensions use the below link.

The above solution might help to work on the Target. There is no way to rollback to the old UI.

Good morning,

 

unfortunately none of the above worked.

I also tried the mentioned steps on my personal laptop, so to be sure no corporate policy was preventing the UI to work correctly, but I got the same exact result mentioned in my first post.

 

Moreover, and more disturbing to be honest, we just realized the A/B test did not track any data in Adobe Analytics since it's gone live.

You cannot find any reporting data in Target UI nor in Analytics' A4T panel (activity name is missing).

 

This is honestly creating issues businesswise.

A fix to the situation is really urgent, @Deleted Account support can you please reach out?

It's not just the VEC, the FEC is completely messed up after the new UI also. All our audience refinements disappeared from all activities, Reports only work with some activities, can't apply the same audience refinement to more than one location, etc. Tickets are in to client care.

I feel your pain! Same issues here as well. The new UI release went active for us last week and it sounds like the same issues you're having persist. 

 

They can give you access to a toggle button to go between the old and new while they fix the new.
