Navigating down to elements in new visual editor UI

I am having a lot of issues with the new UI that launched for the visual editor. I need to get to the label on this field to rename it. It is nested under the div I have highlighted in my screen shot. I used to be able to click the arrow next to it to see what elements are underneath and select the one I need. I can no longer do that. Clicking on the label in the preview screen doesn't work either. It just selects the input. Is there another way to do this now? Right now, I can't even do a simple text change on a label.

Hi, Please try the changing the label through the javascript in form based activity.

Thanks! I am looking for an easy way to do this within the VEC. Before the update, I could simply click and change the label. That functionality should still be present. I know there are work arounds with JavaScript but we shouldn't have to use the form-based activity for something as simple as a text change. We are working on submitting a ticket to Adobe but posted here to see if there was something we were missing or if functionality had moved.
