Identifying and Excluding Bot Audience Members

Hello,

We're running into a situation where we'd like to exclude Bots from an experience, but are not sure how best to do so. Analytics has an easy way to exclude bot interaction OOTB, but we haven't found an obvious way to do so on the Target side. User Agent is not an audience selection parameter that is available to us in the VEC.

 

I see a suggestion from 2017 that is similar here -- it does have a couple options listed, (profile script or HTTP Header references to build the audience), but since its been several years I wanted to check in and see if others have approached this more recently. And also another community question that was answered here -- but the solution isn't fully explained with respect to how they referenced User Agent.

 

Any suggestions?

I found UserAgent as an option under Site Pages > HTTP Header > UserAgent.

 

So i think I am good to go, but if anyone has other approaches please share them.
