How can I integrate Target data into Google Analytics

Hi,

In a previous company we used Target for our A/B testing and were able to report on the results in GA. I'm on the Marketing side so I'm not exactly sure how this was setup, I would just create a Custom Dimension in GA for each test segment and share this with the dev team to add the tracking when building the test.

Does anyone know how this would work? At my current company the understanding is Target will not integrate with GA. I'm sure it's possible as I've seen it done before but could do with some documentation/ instructions I could share with the dev team.
