Hi @bkostak and @Drburns27,

I just saw the note about the "4/28/22 Real Time Personalization webinar" & haven't had a chance to watch it yet, so maybe my question is answered there, but I'm wondering how long does it take until someone becomes a member of a RT CDP audience to use for personalization on Target?

I'm looking at using a RT CDP segment in a Target activity and wondering when I can expect the personalized content to show for someone once they've met the criteria to qualify for that segment?

Thanks!

@optimizingGreat question!  Yes it was answered in the webinar.  As long as the RTCDP audience has been shared to Target as a destination, it's a new class of segmentation on the EDGE which allows for same page qualification of an individual in that segment.  So for instance, if I'm on a call center call and I'm expressing dissatisfaction, while I'm on the website and scrolling to cancel my subscription, I can qualify same page as a dissatisfied customer based on the RTCDP segment, and the page (or elements of the page) can refresh with content providing incentives for me to remain a customer.

Does the page auto refresh or would you have to navigate away and come back and then the content on your targeted page would change? What does the experience look like from a customer's perspective?

  • Is there a way I can list the target activities within AEP.

@sambWe need more clarity on this one.  Where are you looking to list Target activities in AEP exactly?

 @bkostak and/ or @Drburns27  When are profile scripts best suited for audience creation?  Can a profile scripted audience be shared across the adobe stack, to audience manager, for example?

@dankleinschmidtGreat question!  Profile scripts are a powerful tool for augmenting the Target profile by capturing a value based on a behavior on the site or app.  For instance, an entry within a form field in a survey that you want to persist and use for qualifying a visitor for a test or targeted offers or content.  They can be shared to Audience Manager for use within other applications.  We've recently updated the library with auto-fill and other features for ease of creation and management of profile scripts.

Hi @bkostak and @Drburns27,

Is there an easy way to determine what RTCDP segments someone is in when troubleshooting a Target activity on the web?

@optimizing

Hi, Optimizing - you can view audience definition details on a pop-up card in various places in the Target UI without opening the audience. This functionality applies to audiences created in Target Standard/Premium and audiences imported from Target Classic or created via API.

more info can be found here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/target/using/audiences/create-audiences/audiences.html?lang=en#use-list

@bkostak Does something like this exist today for customers or was this only part of a demo? This shows which segments someone is in, which is helpful when troubleshooting.

I have a few questions but first being, does the RTCDP offer look alike modeling similar to that of AAM capabilities? Additionally, what would be a use case, if any, to still use AAM alongside the CDP? Or does AAM become completely obsolete with the new CDP?

@benmu6Look-alike modeling in RTCDP is similar to AAM, and you can continue to use AAM with Adobe Target and other applications at the Experience Cloud level.  Once you have RTCDP implemented, and you are on the Adobe Platform Web SDK, you may choose to utilize RTCDP audience segments more often depending on the omni-channel data you are feeding into RTCDP from both Adobe and non-Adobe sources, including online and offline.

How do you handle delays in the Target personalization? We've found it can take up to 3 seconds for the Target experience to load after the page loads.

This sounds like an implementation issue or incorrect use of Activity offers.  Can you dm me the Activity location in question so I can take a look?  I have found, on average, Target to respond within 125 ms.  3 seconds is an issue independent of typical Target usage.

@bkostak and/ or @Drburns27

I have a question about troubleshooting a reporting issue within Target.....for an A/B test that is built utilizing the auto-target traffic allocation, what would be a cause for not seeing either a Personalized Insights nor Important attributes reports?

We've had a test run for about two months, personalization models have been created for all 3 experiences, so there should be enough data to derive a report(s). The only thing that I can think of as a cause is that the test was temporarily deactivated and reactivated to the site but only for a day. This was about mid-way through the testing period, so there should have still been enough data even if everything had to start over. Hoping you guys might have some solutions?

@benmu6The insights reports should generate once the activity reaches the required thresholds per experience in the activity.  The stalling of the activity could have impacted the number of visitors that have qualified for each activity so it may take a little longer for the algorithm to get back up to speed.  It's difficult to diagnose without seeing the activity, but if the issue persists, you can open a ticket on this (although I've not known there to be a previous issue with the Insights reports with Auto-Target)

More info on Insights reports here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/target/using/reports/insights/personalization-insights-reports.html?lang=en

Thanks for the response! When you refer to the "required threshold", are you referencing the threshold needed in order for the models to generate or is there another threshold that needs to be met once those models have been created?

Sorry, another question....when utilizing Target through the new AEP implementation/connection, can you still use Target as a reporting source? Is there anything in particular that needs to be kept in mind when using this reporting source? We've seen click tracking issues, lack there of, and wondering if there are common pitfalls here?

Thanks!

Adobe Employee

@benmu6I would love to review the click-tracking issues you've experienced.  Yes, Target reporting and Analytics-enhanced reporting are still the optimal methods for reporting within Adobe Target when utilizing an RTCDP segment within a Target activity.

What is the best way to troubleshoot a Recommendations activity delivery when using AEP Web SDK implementation method? Does that rec data appear within the Adobe Experience Platform Debugger, is it through console logging once enabled through the debugger, or an mbox trace, another method?

Adobe Employee

@benmu6Adobe Experience Platform Debugger is the best route currently, but we would also love to hear what the information is that you are looking for in terms of recommendations delivery utilizing the AEP Web SDK.
