[Announcement] 🚨 Facing Issues with the New Adobe Target UI? You're Not Alone. 🚨

As Adobe Target undergoes major UI upgrades, many users—both new and experienced—are encountering unexpected challenges:

As few examples like :
1) Activities created in the old UI aren’t working correctly in the new interface (and vice versa)
2) Moving or editing page elements has become more difficult
3) QA URLs not functioning as expected
4) Missing features or unclear workflows
And many more ...

Together with @kandersen-1 , we’re excited to launch a new dedicated thread on Experience League - a new Captain-driven initiative to bring us all together to:

1) Share the issues you're facing
2) Report what's missing or broken
3) Learn workarounds and tips from others
4) Find clarity on how to navigate the new UI efficiently

The goal: Let’s crowdsource solutions, simplify the transition, and support one another through these changes.

Got a blocker, a workaround, or just something that feels off? Post it in this thread. We’ll answer what we can—and escalate where needed.

I'm looking for the Download (to preview recommendations) button. It used to exist, but no more.

The Download data option still there in new UI. it seems like only position changed.

If you click on the 3 dots you can see options to download data. Can you check if you're able to see the options like below.

Is it the first time you're facing issues with PWA to load in VEC? Does it work before in old UI?

Also can you once update the Adobe Experience Cloud Visual Editing Helper chrome extension to latest version - 1.3.3 and give a try.

Yes, I was able to create the activity using the old UI. Now, I am working with the latest version of Adobe Experience Cloud Visual Editing Helper but am unable to create an activity.

How can I easily move or arrange components in the new UI? THe old UI had a move and arrange feature.

Hey @timbo4

Yes you're right. The old UI has below features which was easy to move, rearrange, resize the options with a particular object.

However in the NEW UI, Layout functionalities like rearrange, resize, move are currently unavailable. I did check on this with Adobe Support team last time and they informed me that this features are still under development so hopefully we can expect this feature will be available soon.

Once more point to add - if you're looking to arrange any text / paragraph object, When you click a page element in the Design canvas, you can see below VEC actions, where on e of the option called Arrange which allows us to move forward / move backward. See if this helps in your case.

@gokul_agiwal Thank you for the information and suggestions. The Move forward/backward feature does not help me in my case, but was able to work around it by using the old UI to rearrange.

Hopefully Adobe will release the Move/Arrange/Layout features on the new UI very soon.

Is CJA missing from the Reporting Suite (Goals & Settings tab) in the new experience or does it need to be configured via Admin?

I mean i see CJA in the Old experience in Reporting Suite, but not in the New experience.

Hi @sergiik3 This should be available if both you and your company must have access to Customer Journey Analytics and to Target.

And yes, Please check that you're seeing CJA as reporting source for your activities.

To access the Reporting configuration page, click Administration > Reporting.

Hi Gokul,

Are you aware of a fix for this issue, whereby Target reformats a link structure, which in turn breaks the link on the respective page when the campaign is activated?

It appears to add /render to a href and /proxy to image url's, however everything performs and renders as it should when checking via the QA Activity links?

This is happening with both Experience Targeting (XT) and AB Test (A/B) campaigns.

I had activated an XT campaign on 26 June, prior to the update to Target UI (I believe) when this issue was discovered with newer activites, I checked back but all links were unaffected, no additional /render or /proxy present in the HTML.

new UI really sucks. Sorry to say that. Page is loading very slow, 80% of time we get to error page instead of rendering the page. Earlier we used to have a custom code inject. Looks like that is gone. Earlier we used to have the insert before or after as a dropdown which was earlier than now doing it on the UI. Hope it gets improved.

Sorry for late reply here - somehow I missed your message.

I hope you're adapting well to the new Adobe Target UI and managing any issues related to page slowness or rendering delays. Particularly about the custom code injection, this feature still available in new UI and you can get it once you click on Show Modification button

Once you clicked, you can add a modification and chose the modification type like below - you can see custom code option in dropdown.

About Insert After / Insert Before :

The Insert Before / After option is still present in the new VEC, just that you need to select a component to insert first and than hover over the elements in the page. The VEC will display Insert Before / After button above and below the hovered element.

Hope this helps. Feel free to post if you're seeing any other issues.

Hi Gokul, Is there a way to now work with device simulation, as I am having endless issue trying to change my views Mobile first to Web... it just changes everything to the same. In the old UI it could be changed without effort.

Hi @tr1ck1

You can use the design canvas only for all the viewport or mobile simulation to see the views. You can chose the right device options and provide the size alogn with zoom in/out controls.

Hi Gokul and wider community,

The previous issues I was facing with Target seem to have been alieviated since installing the VEC Helper update extension for Edge (Chrome extension currently blocked by our IT) BUT still having UI issues

I am currently trying to access banner HTML, which sits within a SECTION of the page, previously I could use the 'breadcrumb layers' to select the level of HTML content I wanted to access - ie I could select the body level, then select edit content to view the full HTML, now when I try to do this, above div level, the editor panel disappears instantly, allowing no time to select edit content.

Is there a way to activate the editor panel after you select the level you wish to edit?

I have attached screenshot and video to show details

Hi @seanha16 I just tried and its working for me.

At the bottom of the VEC editor, a DOM path displays, select the right element you want to edit and then you can see the editor panel ( blue in color with options) appear and also the edit panel at the right side of the design canvas.

Like in below screenshot, I select the 2nd div Footer > div > div, once I clicked on the div the blue panel appeared in editor.

Can you try it once again and check
