We have opportunity and preparing the architecture for customer. One of the assumptions is to use Dynamics (as a source CRM and destination) with AEP.

Would love to hear here some experts if there were things which were not able to be done by OOTB connectors and you have used APIs.

@michael_soprano Here's my 2 cents..

There are more than one way you could get CRM data from MS Dynamics into AEP, when deciding consider the following

  1. The Pipeline: When building a solution around this, you could use API or also consider SFTP/ Data landing zone (MS Azure), compare the effort, maintenance and observability across all these options
  2. Data format & completion: Is the data available in the format required? does it need transformation before ingestion? Weigh in on pro's and cons on where you would prefer to do this? before the data is ingested ( may be more transformation control and features) or after reaching AEP (data prep)
  3. Time to value: For some usecases you may need to stream data as it happens while rest can be batch, consider breaking data across categories and using more than one way pipeline to facilitate such use cases

Hope that helps
