Error setting up SFTP as Destination on AJO - Generic error Authentication failed

Avatar

Level 1

Trying to set up sftp connection b/w SFMC and AJO and using SFMC sftp server details to set up the sftp on the AJO end.

When trying to add the required details on the AJO>Destinations>SFTP Set up with details from SFMC sftp (username/password/host/port) it throws a generic error : Authentication failed check your credentials and try again.

Wondering if there is a better way to decode the error to fix the issue.

Please help me with pointers if anyone else has been on the same boat.

Hi @PraveenSi3 ,

To troubleshoot the SFTP connection issue, I recommend testing the connection outside of Adobe Journey Optimizer  using tools like WinSCP or FileZilla. This will help determine if the issue lies with the credentials or the connection itself.

Please try entering the same credentials (username, password, host, and port) in one of these tools to verify if the connection is successful. If the connection fails, it may indicate an issue outside of AJO. On the other hand, if the connection is successful with these tools but not within AJO, it could be a configuration issue within AJO.

In the latter case, I suggest reaching out to the support team for further assistance, as they can help investigate why the connection is working with external tools but not within AJO.
