Audience evaluation - Is start and end times of "Today"

Hi,

In segment builder I've built a streaming evaluation audience for specific events that occur today.

For audience evaluation, are the start and end times (12:00AM-11:59PM) of "today" calculated off the visitor's local time zone (e.g. UTC+10) or AEP internal time zone (UTC+0)?

Thank you

Hello @_andy_

If you're building a streaming segments where the evaluation is 'Today' all events which are generated as of Today.  The timeframe of today as mentioned by @davidross91 is calculated using UTC of the Adobe RTCDP instance.  All events should be converted to ISO9001 when ingesting event data.

hi @_andy_

I do believe it would be UTC - I found this information:

AEP Internal Time Zone (UTC):

  • Evaluation Time: The evaluation of audiences, including streaming evaluations, is done using UTC time. This means that when you specify a time range like "12:00 AM - 11:59 PM" for "today," AEP interprets these times as being in UTC.

Thanks @davidross91 & @brekrut

Are there any time rules that could be applied to help us achieve a an offset "today" aligned with our time zone?

I've looked through the available options and it appears there are no options down to time of day.

If your use case is requiring specific time-based audiences, you could create custom attributes in your profiles that capture the time information you need. For example, you could create attributes that store timestamps or time-of-day information, which can then be used in your segmentation criteria.
