Issue with getTimeToComplete extension?

Hi , 

Is there a way i can use the extension - getTimeToComplete to capture time between events and map the results to an event. 

Currently the response that i am getting is "XX seconds" or "XXXX minutes". Is there i a away i get a response that is always in SECONDS and i only care about the XX value.
