Why is We Retail deprecated (achieved)

On (Adobe We Retail)[GitHub - Adobe-Marketing-Cloud/aem-sample-we-retail:    We.Retail has been archived, see instead the WKND Guide:​ ] - reference project site it said:

"We.Retail is no longer supported, the WKND Guide is the replacement reference site for Adobe Experience Manager."

Does anyone knows why is this the case?

    You can still use We-retail in AEM 6.5 but there will be no updates/code fixes done in the future.

    All the new features including SPA/XF etc. have been included in the WKND project and thats where Engineering team will be introducing the latest use-cases and code sample.

    So, going forward, it is recommended to use WKND instead of we-retail.

    It has happened in the past for other sample site where Adobe no longer updated or enhanced Geometrixx content.
