UserGroup ACL permission in AEM as a cloud

HI All

I have assigned ACL read permissions to my project content path for the user group.

After logging in as a user, I can see the Manage Publications,Create,Edit,Properties and Copy options. My expectation is that these options should be hidden for user groups with read-only permissions, correct?

Thanks

When you assign read permissions to a user group, the expectation is that users in that group should only be able to view content and properties, without the ability to create, edit, or manage publications. However, if users with read-only permissions are still able to use options like Manage Publications, Create, Edit, Properties, and Copy, it suggests that there might be additional permissions or configurations that are granting these capabilities.

Here's what will happen if you only have read permissions:

  • When you click the Create button, you will see a restricted list of possible actions based on your permissions.
  • Edit button will allow you to open the page, but you will be prohibited from making any edits.
  • You can click the Copy button, but you won’t be allowed to paste the copied content.
  • Manage Publication option, you can use the multi-step wizard up to the final confirmation step. However, when you click the final confirmation button, a red alert will appear, informing you that you lack the necessary rights.
