Dears,

Our companies are interested in AEM but have several questions about it. Could you guys help with the following ones. Thanks so much!

- What 3rd party platforms and tools does Adobe AEM supports?

- Does Adobe AEM support the integration of custom-developed tools through APIs? Or available SDKs?

- What is the content management process for internal & external content production?

- Does Adobe AEM support the below functions:

Document collaboration (sharing, editing etc), How? Process diagram

Search (across intranet content, not internet search)

Single Sign-On (or SSO management system integration)

Internal social solutions and Messaging tools, we are aware there’s a built-in IM tool in AEM6, but we want to find out if AEM6 supports other social solution integration platforms

There is no Federated search OOTB with AEM, a common approach is to use SOLR. But other integrations are possible as well

Single Sign-On (or SSO management system integration)

which 3rd party tools and API's are you talking about?

Also what IM functionality in AEM6 are you referring to?

AEM does not have a real-time chat function natively, but it is quite straightforward to integrate a third party chat capability. The Communities module does include a messaging (aka private message) function. For instance in this forum you can click on someone's profile and under the avatar there is a link to send them a private message.

For real-time chat integrations a client side library is provided by the chat tool provider. It is a straightforward integration.
