Simplest approach to SEO-friendly URLs for single domain

My requirements are really straightforward and should be the default, but I'm having a hell of a time configuring mapping rules to do what I need. Assuming I have content in /content/mysite/ and assets in /content/dam/mysite and /etc/designs/mysite, I want to be able to refer to HTML without an extension (myhost.com/article/title/ loads /content/mysite/article/title.html) and still have URLs to assets be preserved as-is.

Hello Josh,

Yes it is not easy to remove html extension for all URL. Please refer http://www.wemblog.com/2011/08/how-to-remove-html-extension-from-url.html . I have covered a lot of cases in there, You might have to add some more rules for extension less URL to completely work.

In short it is nothing but CQ OOTB config + Apache rewrite magic.

Hi,

I don't think, that the extension has an impact on SEO, because many many many sites (which are quite eager to have good rankings) use extensions. So rather focus on good content, which will have a bigger impact on SEO for the long term.  But I am not a SEO expert ...

kind regards,
Jörg

You can use Vanity URL to configure the same.
