RTE- link issue: Special character & is getting converted to &&

Hi,

We have a requirement to have a custom link plugin where link will contain & char but RTE is converting it to & while storing the data into jcr.

Is there any way to prevent it from being converted and have it as & only?

You can write a JAVA code to read that value and save it in a variable, then you can replace &amp to &  and then you can use that variable further using Sightly.

What is the issue?

It saves value in JCR as <a title="test" href="https://www.google.co.in/?q=1&amp;ap=2" target="Target">provide</a>  but in the page it is rendering correct like below https://www.google.co.in/?q=1&ap=2
