Redundant folders in DAM

While uploading assets pdf,ppt in DAM a redundant folder with the same name of the asset is getting created in the same path where the asset is uploaded. The folder contains sub folders namely jcr:content and metadata.xml.

Any idea as why this is happening. The problem is not happening always but sometimes it is observed.

This can be multiple cause like custom listeners, web statement etc... . File support ticket with below details

*) Package containing sample.

*) Logs at the time you encounter issue.

*) If you can reproduce consistantly then the request tracker details.

What is the format for error log that can be posted. I see .zip and 7z not getting uploaded.
