Question regarding adding Metadata Profiles to a folder on AEM

We have a Metadata Profile that we had created in AEM Assets Metadata Profiles. I added this profile to a folder by creating a folder then going to properties for that folder and under the metadata profile tab applying the metadata profile.

So when I load files into that folder, why doesn't the Metadata profile apply to the files being loaded in that folder?

When checking the properties for the files in that folder, it shows the default metadata schema form.

Hi,

If you are looking for custom fields on your metadata, then you have to update metadata schema instead of profile. Profile are built for populating them when the files are added.

Read the differences between them in a perfect answer by KM for another question in community at [1]

Hope this helps. If you need more clarification, please reply to the thread. HTH

Hi @tam123456

Couple of things to check here:

  1. Access to apply the metadata to that folder
  2. Errors in log
  3. Errors in console

Refer this link: https://medium.com/@theopendle/aem-custom-metadata-forms-for-assets-8c6597205f9d

Hope it helps!

Thanks,
