Which tool do you prefer/recommend for AEM application monitoring? Java Plumbr or New Relic?

NewRelic will be the one. It captures the threads and fairly more easy. We have many customers using it.

Dear Symon,

There is one more solution DynaTrace that has fairly good integration with AEM 5x and 6.x.

They support creation of Dashboards for Performance and tick all the boxes previous tools do.

They also provide additional stats:

Requests
GC stats
Disk utilisation
Requests
Errors
Exceptions
Much more :)

I would recommend New Relic.

Their server monitoring tools allow us to remotely monitor various servers and development applications for free and their stuff just works.

We use NewRelic to monitor our AEM instances but I believe we need more direct/involved monitoring tools. Do guys know any other tools which we can use in addition to NewRelic ?

It may not be the tool you are looking for, but take a look at the open source Sling APM Framework which enables New Relic to provide meaningful transaction names in AEM.
