need clarification on dialog

When ever we create any component we much have dialog but on what basis we need we will choise is contained or fixed column section tabs etc

granite/ui/components/foundation/container

granite/ui/components/foundation/layouts/fixedcolumns

granite/ui/components/foundation/section

on what basis we need to choose please explain
