move project from AEM 6.2 to 6.5

Hello  Team

My client wants to move project AEM 6.2 to 6.5 . We have planned to create one new DEV instance with AEM 6.5.15 and on top of that we 'll deploy the existing project codes and test that . Do we have any other approach or shall we follow the same approach? Do we have any run book or steps to follow that to deploy the project codes and make that environment is ready.
