Migrate JUST Version data AEM 6.5?

We migrated data from 6.3 to 6.5 and knew the version history would be wiped out.  Now a small group wants to get the version history for their area of content only. 

Is there any way to just migrate/merge the version history of a section of content from 6.3 to 6.5 without doing the content itself again?

Migrating just versions is not an option. You need to migrate a node within versions. To do that you can employ crx2oak and use --include-versions argument
