Live Search Popover Image Roles

Question

I was wondering if there was an option to set the specific image role you want to display on the live search popover widget? Currently it's setting the default image role as the image to be shown. I couldn't find any option in the Magento live search settings nor any documentation on whether you can pass an image role through the configuration in the code. Does anyone know if it's currently being worked on?
