Links in RTE not working in Author but fine on Live.

In our PROD Author I have a single page that has 2 RTE components. When I add a link or mailto into these RTE components it changes the text to the link blue but if viewed as published it return them as if they are not linked at all. When the page is published the links work fine.. I just can't figure out why they would not be displaying correctly in the author. I have several similar pages with RTEs all with mailto and links that display fine in both.. it's just this one particular page. 

Would anyone have a rough idea of what might cause this behaviour?

Hi,

Check whether link checker is On in prod author which validates the link and shows as broken if it is not present in AEM

 

For disabling link checker, you can follow below steps
