Is there a way to have authorable email template in AEM?

Hi,

Want to check if there is a way to build AEM authorable templated emails.

If I use Freemarker I do not see an option to make it authorable.

The idea is to have an option to send HTML emails where the HTML can be authorable? any suggestions guidance will be helpful.
