Hi Rajiv,

If you have a GMS to manage translation projects, you can look into connectors some of these GMS providers provide to integrate with their GMS (e.g. Translation.com, Smartling, Cloudwords, etc). Some customers also build their own middleware to connect GMS and AEM. There are also middleware products that is independent of any GMS (e.g. ClayTablet).

These connectors usually have the following features:

  • Allows you to launch a translation project into multiple languages in AEM
  • A status monitor monitoring the status of the translation project. For example, when it starts, when it is in translation, when it is translation completed and when it is back/imported in AEM
  • Ability to allow you to define translatable properties in general
  • some connectors allows you to send pages and component packages, others only allows to you send pages for translation
  • Some connectors such as Translation.com and ClayTablet and probably others even allow you to control component inheritance behavior in case your site structure is set up using MSM.

Hope this helps,

Mengmeng

Hi Mengmeng,

We have AEM 6.1 and Smartling Connector (4.0.1) and when we promote a Launch on our Language blueprint page inheritance gets reestablished which is something we tried to avoid, since once translations are back in a Launch version and we promote it we don't want to get translation overwritten by any Source rollout (using MSM). Do you know if there's a way to set AEM Launches to set this inheritance behavior (disable inheritance at a page level)?

Thanks!

Patricia
