Hi,

I'm very new with AEM. I want to override journal component from /libs/social/journal/components/hbs/journal and comment component in my project.

I didn't get how to override it. Please provide me step by step solution or any good example related to override OOTB component.

And if possible explain me difference between extend, overlay, and override component.

Thank you in advance.

See this video - it will explain these concepts: Scott's Digital Community: Learn how to build an AEM component that inherits from a foundation component

You can copy that node and place it under /apps/<MyProject>/components.

Then change the title of the component in the properties and then modify some app logic. Overlays

There are some definitions (and details) on the following documentation pages:

Both pages also include links to examples of how the feature can be used.
