How to implement the custom link tracking out of the box HTML 5 video events?

Hi,
The customer decided to use their own HTML 5 component as opposed to the viewer. Do you have a link or best practices document that we could share with the client elaborating on how to implement the custom link tracking out of the box HTML 5 video events?
