Error while publishing newsletter to ExactTarget

Hi As part of POC I want to establish a connection between AEM and EXactTarget.

I am following the doc present at https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-6/wcm/campaigns/publishing-newsletter-to-exacttarget.html

I have created the configuration and am trying to publish the already created newsletter : Polar Goggles Reminder under geometrix.

however when I try to publish the newsletter i get below mentioned message :

Result
Failed to publish newsletter
Please activate the email before running this operation.

 

Could anybody plesae explain what does "activate the email " mean. and if possible steps to activate the email?

This article covers all the steps needed to create and publish newsletter to Exact Target. This article covers adding email tools to news letter, applying Exact Target configuration to Newsletter settings and Publishing newsletter to Exact Target.

1. Before publishing a newsletter to ExactTarget, make sure you have applied the correct configuration to your newsletter.

2. If a newsletter is published with the same name as that of a newsletter already published, then the earlier newsletter is not replaced. Instead, a new newsletter is created with same name (the IDs of two newsletters are, however, different).Publishing the newsletter to ExactTarget also publishes the newsletter to the AEM publish instance.

 

I hope following this article will overcome your problem.

Thanks Kautuk for replying.

I am already following the very link that you have suggest(as mentioned in the question), however still getting this error.

Do I need to have an email service configured for the newsletters to be published to ET? or is it not required?
