I am trying to perform in place upgrade as advised in guide to Upgrading to AEM 6.0.
Upgrading to AEM 6.0 - docs.adobe.com

However when I complete in-place upgrade first step.

Th eAEM gets started and launches only to give error

"
HTTP ERROR: 503
Problem accessing /. Reason:
AuthenticationSupport service missing. Cannot authenticate request.

Powered by Jetty://

I want to perform next step : Migrating the Repository to Oak: but getting the error mentioned above.

I have already tried below mentioned ooptions:

1.Bouncing instance

2.deleting index.tar files from repository

but still error persists.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

your error:

AuthenticationSupport service missing. Cannot authenticate request.

is a standard error message for when the repository cannot be started, as such it is not the root cause for the failure to start your  instance.

If you have a look at your error.log file, you will most likely see an exception much earlier in the log file, which will show the specific reason for the above error message. have a look for it and post it here.
