I got this to work by selecting a folder that contains the assets. See:

When you click on an asset - the button is disabled - but when you click on a folder that contains assets - it works.

What steps are you following when you see this disabled button?  I want to try and reproduce.

In Touch UI goto

Tools -> Assets -> Metada Schemas, create a custom Schema form by copying the default.
The select the custom form and on the tool bar click on Apply to folders and select the any DAM assest

Issues:

I am not able to select a project as Done button is diasble

I am unable to view my DAM assets when i select Apply to folder option, I can only see Assets that comes
with AEM, not user add assets

I still see the DONE button as disable even though I select the folder with Assets.
