CQ 5 Rich Text Editor with Cut and Copy Plugin Added

In CQ 5 we are having an issue with the cut and copy plugin for the text editor. 

  • Highlighting text and then clicking the Cut icon does not work in cutting the text.
  • After highlighting text and clicking the Copy icon for a different set of text, it does not then paste the correct text. It pastes the first set of text originally selected. No matter how many times you try it only pastes the first text, never different text selected.

Is there a known bug with the plugin or additional configuration that may need to happen to get it to work correctly?

Support is saying this is known defect and is scheduled for the next release. 

I would encourage everyone who want to get this fixed to enter a support ticket to rally for a fix.  This is a pretty basic feature in an RTE.  As bad as the RTE is, we need to make sure that the functionality it has does work.

        What version of Cq. 5.?.  Have you tried different browsers?

We have version 5.6.1 and the issue so far in our testing is in latest Chrome for Windows and Mac.
