Convert classic UI to touch UI with SPA support

Hello Experts,

 

We have decided to move our application from classic  to Touch with SPA.

I need your opinion how this can be done and following are my approaches.

 

Approach 1:

1. Migrate all the classic component and template into the touch UI using AEM conversion tool

2. Migrate the touch to SPA 

  1. Convert the project folder structure to SPA structure i.e. archtype 27.
  2. In corporate the touch UI component into the new project structure.
  3. Convert touch UI component to SPA component (in other words, make the component to work on SPA template i.e. SPA component)

 

Approach 2:

  1. Convert the existing project structure to SPA structure i.e. archtype 27.
  2. Migrate the Classic UI (component, templates) to touch UI
  3. Convert touch UI component to SPA component (in other words, make the component to work on SPA template i.e. SPA component)

I believe you are already using editable template. If not then you might need to convert all of your page and template from static to editable template followed by components.

 

Once you have the component available on touch ui now you can plan to migrate to SPA components. At the same time I will suggest to check the OOTB SPA components that is available with core component if anything can be reusable.
