Hi @Sup11 ,
Yes, you can absolutely use it. It works perfectly fine for local development.
Long-Term & Is It Safe?
Microsoft OpenJDK 11 is supported with updates until September 2027.
Adobe supports Java 11 for AEMaaCS until at least September 2026.
In practical terms, your local setup will remain fully supported and secure for the next two years. If Adobe announces a move to Java 17 (or later) before September 2026, you’ll simply install the corresponding OpenJDK version locally to stay aligned. Until then, no changes are needed just keep an eye on Adobe’s release notes for any Java-version updates.
Thanks,
Amit
