Can one remove the entire crx-quickstart\\server directory post CQ v5.4?

Are there any other structures within the CQ v5.4 footprint that one can remove going forward from CQ v5.5?

I handled the CQ v5.4 to CQ v5.5 upgrade but wasn't sure about what could be removed and what couldn't though I suspected a couple of areas were no longer in use.  Because I wasn't sure I figured there was little harm in leaving this stuff around.  That is until they've asked one of my peers to handle the CQ v5.5 to CQ v5.6.1 upgrade with me mentoring so we had at least two resources with experience doing it and this individual started trying to start our CQ v5.5 SANDBOX instance using the old CQ v5.4 start/stop scripts present at crx-quickstart\server.  So  now I think it is important to get rid of these areas that are no longer used and I'd encourage Adobe to make this information know in their upgrade documentation if it is indeed safe to remove such areas.
